Quick Reply not showing after VB 3.7.0 !! Hi, My PhotoPost 5.31 was working perfectly for more than 3 years and it was really solid since I have more than 60,000 users accessing more than 10,000 pictures with more than 10,000 comments. The problem is that after upgarding my vBulletin to 3.7.0, the Quick Reply is not showing in any page!! I know it has nothing to do with vBulletin but I noticed this after the upgrade only. I checked all the PhotoPost options and all the UserGroups permissions and I found nothing!! Please take a look on the following link how its showing now: http://img247.imageshack.us/img247/2...stqrerrqt4.jpg Thanks in advance to the best Gallery software in the universe :) |
I see a quick reply using Photopost Pro 6.02 with vb 3.7 so initial suggestion would be to upgrade since there where changes made in 6.0 to support the quickreply in latter vb versions. |
Thanks for reply Chuck S, How much will cost me the upgarde? |
If you have current members access you can download the upgrade and do it yourself for free. |
Well maybe I must open a new Bug report but after upgrade to version 6.1. I have the same problem as above. The Quickreplay shows the same picture. I work with vbulletin 3.7.0. Any idea, or must I open a new bug report |
Turn off your hacks or plugin system in vb is your comments box still the same? |
1 Attachment(s) Yes,disable every plugin but still no quick replay. This error is after update to photopost version 6.1 Before the quickreplay from the version before from photopost working just fine with vbulletin 3.7.0 See attachment |
That definately looks like an old vb hack bug as you should have a comments box http://www.reeftalk.com/gallery testing and testing is a login you can use Make sure to upload the entire 6.1 download minus config files. |
1 Attachment(s) Thanks, uploading all files again as you suggest and now I have the quick replay back online. Only thing is that this is a small replaybox. I remember this is not the first time I have this isue. Is there a solution for that of is it something that is still a bug? See attachment |
It is not a bug that I know of. I beleive vb changed some things but the way our quick reply is coded it should be the width you set in your vb options You need to find whatever rows and columns your setting for the quick reply in vb. For example mine is set to 10 rows and 60 columns therefore thats the width. |
Well as I wrote this is a isue. Found the solution on vbulletin: In IE6 the last character entered is hidden. This is only in QR and only in RTL. It does not affect any other browsers, editor boxes, or LTR languages. Verified on default style with no modifications. It can be fixed by making the following change.... In showthread_quickreply find two instances of style="width:100%; height:{$editor_height}px" Replace these both with style="width:<if condition="!is_browser('ie')">100%<else />$stylevar[formwidth]</if>; height:{$editor_height}px" It's only a temporary fix, but it works. Works for me fine now :) |
I am sticking this thread so people can see the solution and understand since we get the size from vbulletin it is a vb bug. |
I'm having the same problem, except re-uploading the 6.1 files didn't work for me and it is also affecting my Classifieds installation, which I did not upgrade at the time that I upgraded my VB and PP Pro. Any ideas? |
well what is your problem there are different issues all in this thread. One guy who has a hack issue and another who has a small box in IE and wanted to make it bigger |
Sorry, I have the original problem - no quick reply box after upgrading to VB 3.7. |
My suggestion is you make sure your using all your current unmodified photopost files by uploading everything except the config files and then make sure you turn off all vb plugins and see if it works. If so then you can turn each one on one at a time and see which one is the culprit |
I upgraded my photopost from 5.31 to 6.1 but still no success !! So I disabled my VB hacks one by one and I found the problem :) THE HACK ( Smilies in Quickreply ) IS THE ONE WHOS CAUSING THIS BUG !! any idea how to overcome this problem ?? because this hack is highly demanded by mu users :( |
You would need to consult that hack author. I would assume its because that hack only gets called in a certain hook area. You could try making it a global start hack meaning it gets initialized when vb starts but other than that I am unsure as I am not familiar with that hack. |
