Users UN Has Swapped with MY UN??? This is the second time this has happened in the last week... A user posts something and it says that it is posted by ME and not their user name. I did not touch their profile at all and they do not have my password. Here is the message she sent me: Quote:
WHAT'S UP WITH THAT? How could her user name have changed to mine? Like I said this is the second time this has happened with two different users. Any insight or help is appreciated! |
http://faithsisters.com/photopost/ Is this your gallery I do see it is an internal using our registration system I am not seeing anything within our script that would cause her username to be yours. I would suggest you try registering a user and see if you can replicate this I registered a name logged in fine and uploaded a test photo http://www.faithsisters.com/photopos...954/ppuser/609 |
Yes! I think it may happen when I move someone's image to a different section of the site. I am not sure but maybe it happens when the user comes back in and posts another image. I will move your photo and then come back and upload another photo and see if it logs the photo as me. "kreative karma". |
http://www.faithsisters.com/photopos...954/ppuser/609 still belongs to me there I see you moved it. As far as uploads make sure your uploads directory at every level is 777 as I now show permissions are not right when I upload. |
I think it happens when you upload another image after I move it. So you would have to upload another image to see if it changes please? |
upload another image where? Nope doesnt happen there is no way I see in our code that an image can upload as another user nor can signin's get mixed up. The only person who can upload an image as another user is you the admin. http://www.faithsisters.com/photopos...016/ppuser/609 |
Well obviously it didn't happen that time. Thanks for trying to recreate the problem with me. BTW, I know that the admin is the only person who can upload as another person... that wasn't my point. |
well I dont see anyway a photo could be uploaded as someone else unless an admin does it and each user record is a unique entry in the database. |
Yeah, me either, that's why we are both stumped! ;) |
Yeah well only those users or you would have the ability to change or edit their profile. I know I have tested what I would think are the areas a display name can be changed and this is the permisisons needed. |
OK, this has happened again. I wasn't even on the gallery and I got this email from a user: Quote:
The two user names and passwords she is referring to is PhotoPost and SMF. Just wanted to let you know, it's the 3rd time something like this has happened. |
Why would she have two usernames and passwords. If your integrated with smf the username and password comes from there. Can you please tell or post the email she is getting so we can have some info here? Your not integrated with the forum I can tell you that looking at your site. Now on Photopost you can only reset a password period. The user enter's their address and if they are registered we look up their user record by that email and send them a challenge email to reset the password. After they click that challenge url we reset the password and send them the info. I need to see what she is getting. Unless her email and yours are the same there is no reason she would be getting your info. So under edit users in admin you can look her up and find out her email etc and see if you see an issue. She could be having an issue with smf thats why I want to see the email she gets. |
