User unable to upload images

Howdy,

I am running Photopost PHP VB3 v5.3 on my site.

http://www.twtex.com/photopost/index.php

It is integrated into my forum site.

I have a user that cannot upload images. What is strange is that if I override his password and log into his account myself, I am able to upload images just fine. So I don't believe it is a problem with either his VB user account or the Photopost settings. Also, other users seem to be uploading with no problems.

What happens is that he goes to the upload screen, picks from one of his existing albums, browses to the images he wants to upload (which are sized properly for display and file size), and then when he hits the Upload/Submit button, he gets an error of the type you get when a site cannot be found...!? He never gets to the screen that lists the images down the left side and has areas for comments/titles down the right side.

He is running Windows XP and using IE for his browser. For the life of me, I cannot figure out what could be causing the problem. Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!

Well find out what size of file he is trying to upload. Maybe first of all he is uploading a file that is so large it takes too long or his connection is slow and it takes a while but it sounds to me like he is getting a timeout. Have him try a smaller file. More info here would help.

I have the max file size set at 200KB and his files range from about 100KB to 150KB each. I can even upload the images for him by logging into his account from my computer. When he hits the Upload/Submit, he gets the error immediately. Here is the text of the error message

Quote:

(Sorry I did not post it earlier, I was at work and did not have it handy.)

He has no problems logging into the forum and/or browsing the photo gallery. Sometimes he can upload a single image at a time, but never more than one at a time. I have it set where people can upload 10 images at once.

If he is having multiple issues no one else is having I cant say. Your telling me you can upload fine as him which tells me his upload que is clear and uploads work. Yet the error you describe sounds like a timeout but now your saying it happens immediately.

Maybe try having him go to a friends and login there and see if he can upload. That would localize and confirm it is something with his connection or computer.

Assuming it is his computer, any idea what settings in his browser or anything else might cause problems with uploading? I'm just hunting at this point because I've no clue what could be causing this. I have one or two other users mention the same problem. However, there are other users uploading with no problems at all. So I am inclined to think it is not a problem with a setting in Photopost unless there is something I am not aware of that can affect individual accounts without affecting all accounts.

Scott you can delete any directories under uploads in your photopost directory and see if he can upload if its not a big file. The only other blank page error I can see if this if your using GD2

upload goes to blank screen
