| 6.0 - You did not fill in the comments or rating field
We are having multiple reports of this happening.
A person is logged in and attempts to leave a comment and when they press submit, they are receiving an error that states:
"You did not fill in the comments or rating field" but they did fill in a comment and we have the rating field turned off by default.

Not really sure I just placed a comment and it worked. Can you place a comment on your system?

Yes Chuck. I can't reproduce it, but we have had 10 tickets opened from different individuals about this. They are using both IE & Firefox. I know you need more factors to help troubleshoot.. and I'll work on getting that. Just wanted to post that it is an issue (at least at our site).
Just a reference.. we get between 100-300 images uploaded a day, and comments are double-triple that daily.

When using the icon button to post a comment, it takes you to a page where there is no text box to leave a comment in. If you click submit, the error says: You did not fill in the comments or rating field."
I also just noticed that there is no more link on the main index in the last comment & last photo uploaded columns.
Lastly...still getiing brower errors on gallery showphoto pages that say:
Line: 484
Char: 1
Error: 'Event' is undefined
Code: 0

You sure you dont have any vb hacks installed which are messing with your comments box? I see a comments box on my site and can comment.
You can place a url here and test user login should you wish us to look at your site thanks.

I use Internet Explorer, version 7.0.6000.16512
I go to Gallery in the second yellow band (the one that starts with User CP and ends with Log Out) and select Todays Layouts. With ctrl+click I select the LO's I want to comment on. I also tried just clicking on the thumbnail so it will open in the same page and in both ways I get a real small comment box (on my 17" screen a little over 3 inches wide) and the font is wrong (Times New Roman I think). In both ways I get the same message: You did not fill in the comments or rating field.
| Chuck I will try to get this user aside and turn off all plugins that we have.

I understand that you may not be having the issue. I am unable to reproduce it either. I wish I could.

Another ticket opened by a member Quote:
I continue to get errors when trying to leave comments in the gallery (and, I'm going through withdrawals not being able to comment on these great LOs).
Anyway, here is the current error I am getting:
"You did not fill in the comments or rating field."
I'm not sure how to recreate ... I click on Today's LOs, then pull up a LO and type in my comment and when I click Submit, I get the error. Hope that helps.

Okay.. I logged out of my admin account and into a test account.. and I was able to get it to do this to me.
Internet Explorer only.
You need to use this account (see below for why) username: techlady password: hippoishungry
1. Go to our site and on the vbulletin menu click the Gallery > Today's Layouts link
2. Click on any of the layouts.
The first thing I noticed is that an ERROR appears in the status bar. After the page loads the error states (there are two)
Line: 1484
Char: 1
Error: 'Event' is undefined
Code: 0
Line: 484
Char: 1
Error: 'Event' is undefined
Code: 0
Go to the comment box and type something in. Note that the font is indeed wrong.
This is the bizaar thing Chuck.. I can't get it to do it on multiple accounts.
Use this login:
techlady
hippoishungry
I was able to reproduce it with this account, but can not do it w/ the followme account.
The thing is.. the accounts are the same. Same usergroup. Same permissions. Same everything.

Okay in IE I can get this but I dont see an issue with the code. I think everything here is happening because of the java error in showphoto so let me try to track this down.

Try seeing if you have any issues after applying this fix to get rid of the java error on your page. Note you want to turn off the lightbox till they issue a fix. This should allow you to comment now.

I just grabbed 9/25/07 build that Michael just added.
I no longer get errors in IE7.
I just had one of the gals test it, and she was able to comment when before she could not.
I want to hear back from some of the other people who were having issues before I say "yeap this is fixed".
