6.0 Turning off ability to message should turn off the "Messages" in profile

We turned off the ability to message, but yet when you go into edit your profile, it shows "My Messages". Shouldn't this be disabled (hidden) as well?

Not sure on that one here as it only shows a total messages for the user so I beleive this is shown as STATISTICS for the user and not suppose to be a hidden number. Bad thing about after a new version comes out knowing how the developer intended to code things.

Hi Chuck.

Maybe I'm not understanding correctly. In Profile, when I click on Messages, it states "No Messages". If I turn off PM's in vB then it shuts off any visuals that PM's even exist. With the stand point of admin, I forsee the common question "how do I send a message via the gallery" when any visual cue is being shown. It would be nice if it worked the same as VB does in regards to messages.

I updated the profile.tmpl templates in the build; grab the build and update the profile.tmpl file in the templates directory (both templates/ and tempaltes/vb3enhanced).

I got the newest build, uploaded and overwrote the old profile files.. but I'm not seeing a change. In fact, now it is allowing non admin to send messages even though in the admin area it states that this is turned off. I'm attaching screen shots. I uploaded to both directories; /templates and /templates/v3

Hi there,

'Suddenly' when trying to send messages, I get the error below:

"Script call malformed. Notify your Administrator."

.. but guess what.... That Admin is me...

Any ideas?

Can you please post urls to explain the process you are doing so we can try and replicate the issue? You have downloaded the code and reuploaded the files except your configs right as this thread suggests?
