| Categories missing upon upgrade
I'm going to say upfront.. I can't tell you if it was just us or what.
We had a 100% successful upgrade. No errors. Nothing. When I went into the gallery all of our category names were gone. The description was there, the category name was not.
I tried to turn off vb integration and received this error (posting about that in another ticket) so I turned off the vb via config_int.php manually. Using default template, the categories still do not show.
I went into categories and edited one.. didn't change anything, just saved it. Categories now show. I saw that one other person posted so far that categories were wonky, so wanted to post this to give a heads up.

Well I did not specifically have any issues with any of the sites I have personally upgraded but refreshing cat permissions etc by viewing them in admin and hitting save will always refresh things so glad it works for you.

Chuck, there is one other post from a user that this happened to. I can understand if it only happened to me.. write it off as a fluke... but two different sites usually means that it isn't just a fluke but an issue that should be looked into and further tested in house.

| Same problem, no categories and cannot login!
I have had the same problem. No category names, only descriptions. In my case I cannot login. It says my login is not correct, even though I know it is.

Edit Categories to view the cat list and hit save first.
I had the same problem.
I use Internet Explorer 7 most at the time.
Under Firefox the categories where displayed at index.php
I delete temp files and cookies and now it works.
Strange but true!

I tried deleted those files but it makes no difference.
My site is at www.nunan.com/photos
My only integration is with mambo (actually Joomla) for user registration. I have verified that the cookie is (still) domain-wide.

In Admin => Global Options turn off your cat cache and see what you get.
You have either the catcache not updating or you did not run all the required upgrades.

Have you installed the application to correctly integrate with Mambo? Remember we do not support Joomla and I can not guarantee that will work. You would need to post a test user login here so I can see what the issue might be.

Well Chuck, still no joy here. I can tell you that I 5.62 and other previous versions working fine up until the Photopost 6.0 update. I have PP still working on other Joomla sites too! I am afraid to upgrade them.
You always have useful insights into what might be causing the problem. Any specific items I should fiddle with in the database or file structure? I am just wondering how I can get you a test login when I cannot even login myself! Apparently I cannot PM you, and I do not want post my admin login info here, and I cannot login to make a new account,
(BTW, as some others have posted, Mambo changed name to Joomla, as there was a split with the company that took over. )

Right but we support Mambo not Joomla therefore there is no guarantee you will get that to work for you. I dont use Joomla so I cant say. You can post a site link here and user login and I can tell you somethings but we do not support joomla so there is a limit to what I can do.

Never mind.
I got in via another ID. Thanks for your assistance. Now I will try to figure out why this happened in the first place.
