| Registered Members Disappearing?
Hi everyone,
I'm posting this here but I'm not even sure it is a bug, so please feel free to move it to another topic if needed be.
I'm noticing something weird with my PP, one day I have over 1300 registered members and on the other I have 1260, and then 1229...
The question is, does PP automaticaly purges members that don't finish their email confirmation process (confirmation link click, etc)? If it does, then that would explain it.
If not, would you know why this is happening at all? I've checked the tables to see if there was any anormality, but all seems to be running fine.
Thanks in advance.

Another question, many providers in my country block emails coming from my server... for that reason I usually manually change the status of pending members to "members" so they can view the pictures/post, etc.
By doing that, would PP still drop them after two weeks? Meaning the ones I changed status to member manually without going thru the email activation link, will they get purged or only "visitor" member group gets tagged?
If they'd still get purge, how can I change so if I manually make them members PP will keep their accounts.
Thanks.

I find that if I manually change a member to "Registered" their account does not actually become active - they still have to click on the link in the email. Does the manual method actually work for you GoMes k?

Changing a member to a registered usergroup in a standalone photopost changes them to a registered member

So Chuck, doing that will prevent them from getting purged even if they don't go thru email confirmation, is that correct?

To be honest I never paid enough attention to see if a hand approved member is browsing the site or not. But it wouldn't make sense if you hand approve them and they still not able to become "Registered" without having to go thru email activation.

sorry guys I will try to explain - sometimes users do not receive the activation email because of spam blockers or whatever. If I manually set them to Registered in admin cp they are still not able to log in with the username and password they have chosen.

That makes no sense of you use a standalone install our whole email verification only changes a usergroup for the user and changing the group in the admin does the same

Hmm I just created a test account and tried it - works fine. But I had complaints from folks that they couldn't log in after I had manually activated them. Guess it must have been them and not PP. Please ignore my nonsense above.
