Filesize calculation error

PhotoPost Pro 5.62 appears to be calculating the size of uploaded files incorrectly. If you look at this photo:

http://vfrworld.com/photos/showphoto.php?photo=5039

You see that the Filesize stated is 1023.4kb. However, by right-clicking on the photo, you see that the actual filesize is 67570 bytes. I verified on the filesystem that the correct size for the photo is 67570 bytes:

-rw-rw-rw- 1 apache michael 67570 Jun 5 20:12 102-0240_IMG.JPG

I assume that the size of the ORIGINAL photo that the user uploaded was 1023kb, but then PhotoPost resized the photo to 640x480 based on my configuration. I would expect PhotoPost to store the Filesize of the scaled photo rather than the size of the original photo.

The result of this is that it significantly throws off my user quotas. Users are unable to upload photos because their quotas are being incorrectly calculated.

Has this been discussed before? What is the solution?

I have never seen this nor has anyone reported this so I will need to do some testing

A quick look at a few sites they seem to have the right filesizes

Interesting! Well, I believe I'm on the newest version, and I didn't modify anything. Please let me know if I should open a support ticket and give you my admin login info. I'm hoping I'm just overlooking something, but if this is truly a bug on my system, then it has an impact. Basically, I want to limit user space to something like 5GB (per your suggestion in another thread), but if their used space isn't being calculated correctly, then they will only be able to upload 4 or 5 pictures! You can see the dilemma. :-)

Thanks for your help on this one Chuck.

You can email to support@photopost.com your admin login or post a regular test user here so we can upload a photo

More than likely this may be something on your server causing this. I have yet to see anyone else with this issue
