That all depends on what your answering wrong on the install and what specifically your error is?

Why do you have a / between phpbb2/php your error should be this

Quote:
Warning: mysql_fetch_array(): supplied argument is not a valid MYSWL result resouce in /mnt/w0301/d36/s32/b0271d37/www/photopost/forums/phpbb2.php on line 29
Given your error though I would suggest that on install you have done one of two things wrong which I think I already brought up

1. Your database info under user database in the config on first step of install is wrong

2. You did not input on step 4 of install the correct phpbb2 database table prefix usually phpbb_

These are the only two errors that would cause that error

My bad on the / it is indeed a .php not /php .. as far as your #2 goes this is what I have:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...lipboard01.jpg

and #1 I checked to make sure that the I copied it exactly the way I had it set up in my sql ... this is very frustrating ... but I appreciate your input

I can not tell you what is right or wrong here but clearly the query to grab your phpbb info is failing which is one of those two things so is the database info correct in the config?

Like I said either one of those causes the issue

I understand what you are saying, and I really don't know how else to check if the config is right ... I checked my admin>Edit config and compared IT with my php admin wich has the same info. I also checked the actual file config-inc.php and that was the same info - is there another place where the database info is being put in?? I had MyPhpAdmin open to make sure I input the same numbers which is on the same database as the forum. IF you could list me the files to check I would much appreciate it.
Thanks

It is config-inc.php for the database info and settings table in mysql for your settings

Obviously you have made the same mistake installing both times and you never clearly identified what your mistake was the first time. I however can only post suggestions based on the error you post here and as such my post remains unchanged the only two things I know of that would produce such an error is the wrong table prefix used in the settings as I noted or the wrong database information for the user database in the config file

I understand, but if I have one database with a number d1234567 and a u 1234567 and a password 98765 and then its asking me for the forum prefix which is phpbb_ and which prefix I'd like to use for photopost which is pp_ and then its asking me what is the host MYSQLHOST then the database name ... I can only input one number as there are no other numbers available ... I only have one other database and that one is for my store I never even touched that one it clearly says forums PHPADMIN ...

Anyway obvoiusly I have to live with it as I don't know what could have gone wrong by inserting a number ... oh well ... thanks anyways.

We do offer installation service.

Your only allowed to have one install and you have your main install working right so this second install you must delete

Why would you delete the first install if you got it working?

At any rate you would need to install the application to correctly integrate with the forum. With the error your posting you need to use phpbb 2.018 and above not phpbb 3 and then you need to follow closely the two sections I note

As I noted you need to install and pay attention to the two things I noted. If you get an error you can not query the phpbb users table then your info your entering must be wrong

OK one more time
This is my database:
Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
The information blacked out is the same as on this page:
Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
and then this is Section 4 of the install:
Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
and this is what my folders look like on my ftp:
Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
so unless I totally messed something up I don't see how I put in something wrong. But I hope you can tell me this time around.
Thanks

I would suggest you get your database information from your phpbb2 config.php file

I can not tell you what is right or wrong and a bunch of blacked out pictures will not help that.

OK! Thanks that all matches up as well ... Sorry I couldn't figure it out sooner but it had nothing directly to do with the installation as you mentioned. The error was in the cookies setting in the admin>edit cookies .. I did not type in .hookedondigiscrap.com - now it works perfect.

Thanks for trying to help!!!
