| Incorrect Name Used
I run the newest verion of IPB as well as PhotoPost...I have the gallery setup to show who is viewing the gallery, however, it is displaying the members login name, not their displayed name.
Is this correct...and if it is, however, would I get it to display the members display name?
Thanks!

We grab and have always grabbed the name field in the invisionboard members table for the username. Has been that way ever since we integrated with invisionboard. If there is some alternate fieldname in the members table that has been added then that would need to be added in the future or could be.
I dont own Invisionboard so I can not say what the field is or do any testing to see how to support using a display name

{ipb.member['name']} is probably what you are looking for.
What you want to look for is {$this->ipsclass->member['members_display_name']} That will display the members displayed name.
Some people use a simple login and then have a display name...it could become very confusing to the members...I found out cause I saw someone in my gallery and had no idea who it was, I then realized it was a members login name.

Thanks for the file...did not work.
Here is something very odd...
If a member has a different login name than display name and they log in from the gallery, they are displayed on the forums as their login name.

Odd indeed I know our main file works as it should. I can only adjust a file based on what your telling me. What do you mean the file I sent does not work what error?

The file you sent does the same thing as the original file...
Displays the users login name, not their member name.

Thats impossible I would think cause the user's username is set to their displayname
Now remember thats not going to correct usernames on already uploaded photos so you cant test that way. You need to login with a user that has a display name different and see that it says welcome blah blah

So where there a lot of changes to the ip2.php file?
What areas needed to be changed?
Thanks again!

Looks like it is working well, thank you...
I went through the database and made all the corrections on the previous uploads
Thanks again!
Oh question though...are you going to make this a standard change in upcoming versions or will I need to make the changes each time I upgrade?
Thanks |

It will be passed along to Michael. I actually handle most the forum integrations so I change those as needed when needed
