Chuck,

Hmm... you seem to have made some changes to search at Reeftalk since yesterday, as where it was working with Shift click all the cats apart from one and the All option now don't show at all.. so I can't test out whether Ctrl click is now working or not.

I now just see the attached on your search page..this is a capture from IE7 with XP.

Steve

PS: Although that Photopost search page lets me search, and shows all cats as being my selection.. it finds nothing even if I search on things that should be found. So basically search lets me search and says it will check all areas, but doesn't work at all.. it just says nothing found every time.

That is because for another thread I showed explicitly something about user permissions and blocks categories to show a user something.

The search on ctrl and shift works fine once that user responds I can open other cats up to viewers on my site

Chuck,

OK. A couple of final thoughts on this. I have tried my PP search system with IE6 and it worked fine with Ctrl click.. but it still doesn't with my IE7 setup.

Your reeftalk system looks like security settings prevent searches etc as you say, so that's fine and folks like you and me understand what is going on.. BUT.. my point still stands that any visitor will be shown the search page and that they can highlight to search all catergories... but then nothing will be found.. so that whole display for visitors is giving a very false/bad impression...on your site and any other PP site that sets itself up that way.

Thanks for all your help Chuck. You seem really on the ball there, and that's great.

Steve

I have tested this on my site extensively with IE7 and it works fine using CTRL
