Search Results - Description Missing with Search Keyword Searches.

If I enter a keyword with the characters like "/" or "*" in search, then it does not display the description in search results.

For eg: Check out the page http://www.photopost.com/photopost/s....php?photo=860 which has the character * in its description.

If I search for keywords "dream" or "*", it shows up for both the searches, but in case of "*", it does not display the description.
This might be happening for many many such special characters.

If your search results ids are stored for many days, then the following searches may still be active:

1. http://www.photopost.com/photopost/s...?searchid=9315 [Search "dream" - Results are displayed with description]

2. http://www.photopost.com/photopost/s...?searchid=9317 [Search "*" - Results are displayed without description]

In both cases photo=860 is the 1st result.

Same thing is happening to my installation.

Your search worked fine if I search for *might*

The way the search works you need to search for a true phrase or word not a partial word. The reason photo 860 is found with dream and not * is because that exists. Look at this from the other side of the coin to determine how it works. My search on *might* works fine. However search for might and see the results

I hope this explains how the mysql LIKE search works

I'm experiencing the same problem searching this album. The search arguments of "()" and "[]" were originally set up to display two alternative views of the album. The "()" search shows titles and descriptions but the "[]" search does not.

http://www.mini2.com/galleries/search.php?searchid=1945

http://www.mini2.com/galleries/search.php?searchid=1946

Both return results but what modifications have you made to our code.
See the search above 1946 you show no info. However if I do a search like this for a phrase it shows info fine

http://www.mini2.com/galleries/search.php?searchid=1948

So whats the difference here

Its nothing we've done as I get the same results searching for "[]" on this site:

http://www.photopost.com/photopost/s...searchid=12648

Your search code has problems dealing with square brackets as it also "garbles" BBcode links embedded in the description:

http://www.photopost.com/photopost/s...searchid=12650

No ... the character sets are coded on the first line in the description field:
{} () || [S] []
The first two work fine. The next two show the description but not in it's true format. The last one doesn't show either a title or description.

Here's my album if you want to do the searches ...

The search using the "[]" character IS returning the correct number of results. Its just your logic to format the results is having problems with the character set.
