Bulk Import Bypass Error

When I try to bulk import with bypass typing any ' in the title and/or description, an error comes up.

I tested this on two gallery installs, one a recent upgrade and one with a fresh install, both running v 5.62 and it occurs on both.

The error e-mail I receive says this:

An error was encountered during execution of the query:

INSERT INTO pp_photos (id,user,userid,cat,date,title,description,keywords,bigimage,width,height,filesize,medwidth,medheight,medsize,approved,lastpost,
watermarked,allowprint,extra1,extra2,extra3,extra4,extra5,extra6,ipaddress,allowrate,allowcoms)
values(NULL,'Beautiful-Girl', 2, 2163, 1169499075, 'Willa Holland - This Girl's Life Premiere', 'The O.C. actress Willa Holland attends This Girl's Life Los Angeles Premiere and After Party on October 20th 2004', '', 'willaholland-dot-net_thisgirlslife-lapremeire-2004oct20-040.jpg', 342, 512, 32824,
0, 0, 0, 1, 1169499075, 'no','yes','','','','','','','200.108.198.237','1','1')

The query returned with an errorcode of:

You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 's Life Premiere', 'The O.C. actress Willa Holland attends This Girl's Life Los A' at line 3

Thanks for helping me with this!

Here is the link to the phpinfo: http://www.michelletrachtenberg.org/gallery/phpinfo.php

I noticed this error occurs when I type Michelle's Birthday or 'Movie Title' in the title and/or description. I also noticed it happens when I type 3 ' together.

So you can try using this: Michelle's Birthday as the description and title when doing batch uploads and selecting bypass.

I can type apostrophe's in descriptions which is why I had asked more info

http://www.photopost.com/photopost/s...6681&nocache=1

I will have to search some PHP bugs and see if I can find anything about this. We typecast the title and descriptions and addslash accordingly but it isnt working on your site.

Ok, thanks for your help. Just to confirm, this only occurs when uploading via ftp and checking the box for "Click here to bypass approval process and upload all files in directory". Any other way it works with apostrophe's too, but when checking the box to bypass, I get the error. Is that how you did it on your test? I can give you admin access to mine if you'd like to see what I mean. It never used to occur, it only seems to happen in the new version which leads me to believe it's not really a php issue.

I'm experiencing a similar problem with apostrophe's and bulk uploads and comments. Currently I solved it by a workaround - edited the code and added "addslashes" before it inserts to DB and "stripslashes" for the comments.
I should also mention that the apostrophe problem with inserts only occurs with bulk uploads (when bypassing) and when reading from db it only appears in comments, but in all the comments - meaning in the recent photos page, comments page and show photo page.
I would be happy for an official bug fix instead of having to use that work around since I know it doesn't actually fix the problem.
I doubt its a php problem as everything else works fine and I also tried recompiling apache and php.

I will continue to try and replicate the issue thus far though I am unable to do so.
