Recent Photo Stopped Updating.
I made no changes and was running V5.2 I've upgraded to V5.6 and am still having the same problem.
I don't know what else to tell you. Hope you can give me some direction to resolve this.

There is a caching system in place with a default of 10 minutes which means it'll update on the next cache update.

I'm aware of that, unfortunately I'm not seeing Recent Posts that are over a week old.

That is strange; try setting your cache timeout to 0 just to see if it refreshes.

Thanks again Michael,

I don't know why it wasn't updating; a site of your size doesn't "need" the cache, but if you want it you can set it to 10 again and see if it starts updating again. Caching typically is useful on medium to large galleries.

Again Thanks for your quick response and help. I'll play with the cache setting and see what happens. The important thing is... it updates |

I'm also having this problem. I know this thread is old but with the searches I've done, everyone just says to turn it off. I haven't seen a solution as to why the cache isn't updating properly. I have a large site and this would benefit me greatly if I can get it to work properly. Is there any tips on getting it to work right? I also have mine set to 10 minutes, but it never updates. Thanks.
Jack

Try turning off your cache in Global Options in admin.
I don't know why it wasn't updating and anything would be speculation at best.
Does it update and continue to update without the cache on?

Yeah, it updates fine without the cache on but I want to keep the cache on because it keeps the load on my site down. I changed the timeout to 1 minute, and it's updating now, but I would rather not have such a quick expire time. Somewhat defeats the purpose. Weird, as soon as I go back to 10 minutes, it never updates.

I'll give it a whirl and see what happens. I'll report back.
on edit---
5 minutes works. i wonder if 9 minutes will work. 5 seems to be a good number though. My server load is a lot lower with 5 than it is 1
