Category Title: 'This' becomes \'This\'

Add new Category ...
example: Genus species 'Cultivar'
becomes Genus species \'Cultivar\'

This is a fix provided in a previous version:

We won't be able to try this out till tonight to see if it will fix 5.5

Looks like we missed it in the first place.

FYI this still does this when making category titles in 5.62

At the adminlog it shows as: Added a category: \\\'Test\\\'
... though at index page the category title shows as \'Test\'

I can then edit category > manually remove slashes, and it comes out right.

----------

One other thing I found out during photo upload even with the above fix applied ...

I temporarily changed the number of upload prompts to 20 to upload a batch of pics per category.
All photos had Titles: Plant species 'Cultivar'

After choosing 20 files > submit
The first 10 photos processed were fine - photo titles: Plant species 'Cultivar'
The next 10 photos processed (at bulkupload preview) all photo titles displayed Plant species \'Cultivar\'
... I had to manually edit each title > process > to correct this.

I'm not able to duplicate this:

I added the category:

test's that's

and put the title:

and this's and who's

and you can see it displays properly.

Try 'test'
Does this change to \'test\' for you

We applied this and it appears to have resolved the issue:

That works as well. Maybe its a magic quotes setting or something?

mjm January 2nd, 2007 12:36 PM

I didn't see the name 'test' as a category title but maybe you've deleted it.

You lost me with magic quotes setting thingy but I'm happy that the fix provided in the above link has resolved the issue for us :)

I just removed it hoping you had seen it before I did so; so you'll just have to take my word for it. :)

I'll add that into the final build since it won't effect anything and could resolve this for anyone with a setting that might cause it.
