Upload in progress image frozen on IE

I have had v. 5.5 installed. The "upload in progrmess" image shown during upload is static in IE but works nicely in Firefox. Is this an IE bug or possibly a bug in my installation?

http://www.reeftalk.com/gallery/images/indicator.gif

The image itself is an animated gif so the issue would seem to be related to IE. what version are you using maybe they disallow animated gifs

Try making an html file and place something like this in the file and load it in your browser and see what happens. Replace my image call with your image

I've done that but cannot be seen.

See:

http://www.singaporealbum.com.sg/indicator.php

Nothing can be seen in the htm and php files.

I'm using IE7 Beta 2

I can see it now. Just upload the "indicator.gif" file into the following folder:

@Chuck S.

I did this, and IE (and Front Page) will show this image's animation if I remove the "display" code. But with "display: none" in place the image is not visible.

It wouldn't be displayed until you hit submit; the display none is to hide it until then.

Hm - any thoughts on what may be the matter? Btw IE allows animation and will show it.

Well - in PhotoPost this image is static all the way through, alas - although I see for instance the spinning image in this forum quite without problems.

I've not tried the suggestion in a previous post, just pointing out that it is not working on MAC/Safari
Will need to try it out on IE

How about you all who are using IE 6: Do you see the spinning image, or do you not?

I tried uploading using IE 5.2.3 on a MAC
(that's the highest version Microsoft supports for a MAC)

... and the spinning image didn't work - see attachment

FYI for anyone using vB3.6.2, MAC users on IE will not be able to log in to your forums without This fix

...I never did with IE6 and I still don't with IE7. Did you ever get a fix for this?

I just tried starting an upload here and here too the animation is not animated for me even after hitting submit.

I've done various tests and all animations seem to work fine apart from those with the display:none instruction in front of them, they don't display for me as animations with or without hitting submit.

I thought it might be some sort of style problem but as it doesn't work for me on this site as well as my own I guess I need something to use in place of display:none

Steve
