If you get that error then your permissions are not set to edit comments Code: Content visible to verified customers only.
Have you verified that your category permissions to edit comments is set correctly? Have you ran your upgrade script?

i found a workaround by myself:
in showphoto.tpl
i change the new code "if ( $ucedit[$x]" Code: Content visible to verified customers only.
to the old one... Code: Content visible to verified customers only.
now the edit button is alwas visable, but all user can see it now.

Thats not a workaround and your introducing a bug into the software by doing that as you clearly see.
You must set editing permissions accordingly as I posted and you should be able to edit photos.

i have verified the category permissions to edit comments
and i run the upgrade script at least 4 times... the button was always unvisable.

You can post a test account here so I can try posting a comment
To get the message your getting when editing a comment the variables are as I posted. I see no issue with our software and this function running 5.5 thus we need to see what is endemic to your specific install.

test/test as well you can see it works. You would need to email me an admin login to see how you have things set

so what was the resolve to this - if there was one? I upgraded both vbulletin and photopost this past week and now the edit option is not available to registered users but IS available just to admin...???? i have double checked all the necessary options (ie: Admin > Usergropus, Global, etc.)

and also I should add that we don't even see the icon for "registered" users and no link anywhere present when you mouse around or view source; and as admin I see the edit function... Registered users cannot...
I've also removed the vbintegration; that didn't do it.. turned of WYIWYG editor, etc. but still the same thing so it's obviously a permission error somewhere but can't figure out where at all!
All I did was update the PP software; but didn't change any user permissions

Check in admin options you allow comments and in edit categories for the categories you allow posting and in edit usergroups they can edit comments those are the 3 permissions

yep - it's already allowing comments in the admin; already allow posting in that gallery as the shots showed above; my screen shot of the edit usergroup was above as well but doesn't say to permit comments or not...(see last screenshot)

Just to confirm that we have the same problem with 5.5. The EDIT button does not appear for registered users, only visible to admin.
