There will be no edit button if you have your comments edit timeout set which is a new feature in 5.5. Very simply put here is the code Code: Content visible to verified customers only.
Therefore what this says is if your the owner of the post or a mod/admin and the global timeout is not 0 it will not show. If com timeout is 0 and they have permission to edit it will be there
So what is not set on your site?

I had already tried to change that too - as seen in the attached preview a few posts back... I changed it to both formats and neither showed the edit tab for registered users. http://www.photopost.com/forum/attac...8&d=1161030137 |

Glowinggal the code I posted above is what controls this.
So given you have no comment timeout set. You need to look and make sure if you want user's to see there edit button that they have edit comments permissions in both edit usergroups and ability to place posts in edit categories

ok - maybe I'm dense here but under
EDIT USERGROUP - if you view the images I've posted you will see that both the usergroup is set to allow comments andl also in the specific category that they can also post....
maybe i'm not explaining myself clearly? I feel like I keep being told to check and do what's already been done.... and shown in screenshots...
the code you posted above.... I believe you just posted this code as a "this is why it's occurring". If so, that's great; but am told to change settings that are already set to what you mentioned??? am i just clueless here or are we not communicating properly???

also just tested this again and set the "limit" to 5 years (ie: 365 days x 5 x the per day # given); 157680000 still did not show an edit post button in the post.

I also did permission and all mentioned settings, and the EDIT button does not show up for regular member.
This sounds like a bug as it has been confirmed by a few members.

one other note; I did reupload ALL non-image files in ASCII on the off chance it was something weird like that and still the issue remained...

Also, please note it says "number of minutes allow edit". But it is actually in seconds, not minutes.
