| Missing comment box?
After a recent upgrade to 5.3 I noticed that the comment box was no appearing at the bottom of the showphoto pages like they should. Soooo I just did an upgrade to 5.5 (greaat new formatting changes, btw!) and I STILL have the same problem. Check it out for yourself and please let me know how I can fix this. http://gallery.pcapex.com/showphoto....01/limit/views
EDIT: Fix Found! http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showp...5&postcount=97

For the comments box to appear both the users usergroup needs to have comments permission and in edit categories they usergroup needs to have posting permission as well and the global selector in admin options must be on
which one is not set on your site? Code: Content visible to verified customers only.

I should have been more clear... The coment boxes worked fine before the recent updates. The permissions in both those areas are correct but they still do not show. No settings were changed during the updates and they worked before the updates.
I am having the same problem on my other site as well: http://gallery.gameapex.com/showphot...2/limit/recent

I see the quick comments box quite fine on many sites running 5.3 all the way to 5.5
Like stated the comments box is only not going to show if one of the 3 conditions are not met. I even put up the conditional to show what I mean. So what is not set on your system?
You either have globally comments off or usergroup options have posting off or in edit categories for certain or all cats you have no posting priviledges set.

I am telling you that all those options are set correctly to allow comments. My gallery has MANY comments in it as I have had it set correctly for years. After the recent updates the comment box disappeared. I also went back and verified the settings are still as they were. I am sending you a PM with my gallery admin login info so you can see it for yourself.
Well, I guess I can't send you a PM for some reason. Let me know how I can get that info to you so you can see for yourself.
Emailing info to you.

Yes hacks always drive me nuts
Your going round and round trying to figure things out but yours was easy enough when I could login and see that you had a comments box appear just not fully appearing
Lately the big problem has been users with upload issues because of using symbolic paths not true paths to there data directory. Like 4 in a row. |
