5.5: layout allignment problem

I notice this a long time ago and it goes throug all version. If you enable the recent comments box the box is offset to the left. Sreenshot:

It's how tables with tables get handled when you use percentages as a table width and have two columns under the main section.

Zarzal October 2nd, 2006 05:06 PM

I set it for testing from 98% to 800 pixel. Now the alligment on the left side is correct (not shown on my screenshot) but the right allignment dont change and continue looking like the screenshot.
If this a matter of the threads 6.x integration?

If you do not want an indent as Michael states you need to use width 100%

Zarzal October 2nd, 2006 05:38 PM

Now, I set all tables to 100%. http://www.dragonclan-forum.de/photopost/index.php
You can verify the sourcecode - all 100% and the box dont allign on the right side. Any ideas?

Thats easy you have altered the undercats-sidebar template

There is still a td opening up as normally the recent comments is one two of two there so of course your gonna have a space. You deleted the online pal from that template but left the td.

excuse me, but undercats-sidebar.tmpl is 100% original from the latest build. I checked it right now, no different. Here is the code:
Code:

Content visible to verified customers only.

and just to peeve you PP guys off a bit :) (sorry) i was gonna post the same problem... the comments on index...there's an indent which seemed unusual to the rest of the style/layout etc etc etc... something i thought i would fix myself but saw this thread and well.... had to say :)

If I comment out the following code in undercat-sidebar.tmpl it worked for me:
Code:

Content visible to verified customers only.
But I dont know what side-effects this can happen.

As posting though you have the undercats sidebar on why do you not have an online pal there? Hense why I said you had modified yours.

There are no side affects to what you did. Now the undercats appears how it is suppose to appear given how you have it set. The 2% width is suppose to be there as a break between the next cell

So I would be more concerned now that you say you did not modify anything why your who's online is not displaying

If I am viewing your site the whosonline can not be empty so why is it not displaying do you see where I am coming from here?

Now I go to your site and I see the undercats sidebar pal is properly appearing with the online pal displaying

If your who's online had been properly displaying you would not have even posted this thread.

Comments and Who is Online are 2 different boxes. I enable only comments and disable whos online by default. So you dont see who is online. After comment out the bit of code I enable who is online box to just for testing and see how it looks. Now both boxes are on for some days.

When I use the original PP templates without any modification the allignment with disabled who is online box and enabled comments box is wrong. I dont change any templates. I dont alter it.

Now I removed the 2% and all looks fine to me.

Yes the 2% is suppose to be there as how it is written it was designed to be a two cell undercat and that is the spacer

Michael P October 3rd, 2006 07:27 AM

The 2% is just a middle gap between the two columns.
