Login problems - VB 3.5.4 & PhotoPost 5.31

Hello All,

I work at a newspaper.com (dailypress.com) and we're launching a companion site that features User Generated Content. We have purchased VB and PhotoPost for this functionality. I have enabled full integration, but I am having very inconsistent problems with Logins not "persisting," that is to say that when users that have logged in switch back and forth from VB to PP, they appear to be logged out. Also, when they click "upload photos," "new thread," or "reply to thread," they are sent to a screen that tells them they are not logged in. This is a huge problem, as it appears to happen randomly.

I have looked at the support forums for both products of course, and I suspect that my Cookies are not working properly, although I have checked them again and again for correctness. They seem to be correct. Can somebody please help me with this problem? I have exhausted all options for fixing this myself.

I have created a registered user for you to use:
user: test2
pw: test2

the Forum URL is: http://www.dailypress2.com/forums/index.php
the PhotoPost URL is: http://www.dailypress2.com/photopost/

I am using MySQL 3.23.58 and PHP 4.4.1

I am cross-posting this to both VB and PP support forums. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Photopost and vbulletin cookies must match.

Make sure they are both set like this

cookie path /

cookie prefix bb

cookie domain .dailypress2.com

That should keep users logged in. I can only assume you have links with and without a www in the domain which is going to log the user out. Setting the cookie as defined above will make it work with all subdomains.

Is your vbulletin license number correctly entered in the config-inc.php file? Are you integrated with vb? I have seen some users who are not try to integrate later when they buy vb

Hi there, yes my license number is correct in that file. I added photopost to my exhisting forum and followed the steps accordingly to intergrate with vb. It was working fine until last night. I had uploaded a few images and now its not working and not only for me, one other member contacted me so far with the same issue. Thanks.

Oh and perhaps it may have something to do with the fact I have two licenses running on my server? I have the cookie path set to /forum/ because that is what VB suggests when running two licenses.

Okie, can you please tell me how I can change it back so I can get in? I cannot access the admin section. Thanks.

I believe I fixed it, I ran tools.php in my forum admincp and it all seems to be working now, thanks for helping!
