thumbs not rotating

even though the images i've chosen are wide photos, some of the thumbs are making tall thumb frames on the index page, with the wide image inside of it...very odd.

also, some of the thumbs link to different places than the text links...
it does it on the co-ops and dispensaries gallery and the 420 bands gallery..

please help me fix this..
could not find a way to scan for this type of thing...

You need to post explicit links here cause I do not see anything that looks out of place looking at your site even viewing the category you said

Yes that would be correct coding

Your main gallery is the text link and just like on the main forum categories layout your last post which on this cat layout is a thumbnail will go to the last posted to category. Just how the gallery layout works

are you serious?

that is the most unorganized thing i've ever seen.

how do i make it like every other gallery i have ever seen where the thumbs and text links both goto the gallery?

and how do i fix these thumbs that are not showing properly?

i want this fixed.

iu do not want thumbs linking to the last picture, i want them linking to the category.

i am VERY confused at your response.

chuck.

i have pp pro on 420girls.com members gallery working fine with NONE of these issues..

i have pp pro working on 420times.com, with these issues.

i am comparing apples to apples here brother.

the only difference is that you imported my vb gallery datasbase and upgraded me to pp pro...could this be the problem?...did your import not work right maybe?

and what about the isue of the thumbs not rotating, you seem to have missed 3 times now?

You using the same photopost versions?

this would have nothing to do with an import that happens months ago.

The variable {$cats['thumbnail'][$x]} is defined in pp-inc.php in the catrow function so I would suggest if you want to compare apples to apples you ensure your using both the same versions on those two sites. However as I noted the variable is controlled by $lastphoid which is simply the photo id that is the lastphoto uploaded to the cat and in your case since the galleries in question are parent categories the lastphoto uploaded field will be populated by the last photo uploaded. Try uploading a new photo to one of those children categories and you will see what I mean.

5.31 on gallery1
5.21 on gallery2

i want to have the text and thumb links going to the entrance to thier respective galleries, just like they do on gallery2, just like they always have on pp pro, vbgallery, vba, all of them...this is the first time i have seen this error occur and you are confusing me by saying it is the standard.

since this does not seem to be standard here?
how much to fix it to make it standard for me?
to do what i want?

I can not see the gallery you have in question on gallery2 since it is locked so I can not offer any advise here. The thumbnail link is as I have said it pulls the thumbnail from the lastphoto column and when your dealing with parent categories that lastphoto column is set to the latest photo uploaded to any of its children which is why the thumbnail is to another category which happens to be a child of your coop category. Do you follow me now here.

no, i have absolutely no idea what language you are talking in.
sorry bro.
i need it laid out in english.
of course, this is my attempt at a joke...

for years, the problem you and i always have is that you always talk to me like a tech, i always say i don't understand, you always say there's nothing wrong, i always get frustrated and go away and forget about the problem for a month until i feel like dealing with it again...

how can we get around this hump?

1. i want all category thumbs to pull and display the proper thumb.
2. i want all thumbs and text links to link to the entrance of the galleries.

to me, these are standard things that i have always had on all 6 of your products i currently own.

if you are still saying this is not the standard, then fine, charge me, i don't care, as long as we get it done.

please advise.
thank you.

Rob,

My explanation above is not tech talk it is as I am thinking simple explanation in english. Now I sent you a pm to tell ya to bump the user to admin so I can show you it works the same way on both sites. Your confusion is you have the two sites set up different. Now I will explain this one more time.

Your 420times site you have parent categories with child categories assigned to those parent cats. The parent category post totals and last photo uploaded will all be updated when a photo is uploaded to a child category. Your 420girls site has no children categories so your not going to see the same behavior.

A parent categories lastphoto field in the database will always show the last photo uploaded to that parent category or any category assigned to it. Thus on your coop category etc you have children categories a person can upload to so when someone uploads a photo to one of those subcats then the lastphoto field of coop is updated with that photo. Therefore the thumbail that will appear will be last photo uploaded.

Once my user is updated to admin I will show you it works the same on both sites. You are trying to report a bug and I am simply explaining this is how it is suppose to work and giving explicit examples on how it works.

thanks for your help in this chuck, i just upgraded you to admin.

i am anxiously awaiting your reply.

i am still a bit confused.

1. i want all category thumbs to pull and display the category thumb on index page, i choose, and have it display properly in the proper thumbnail. there is no reason a tall image should show up in a wide thumbnail frame and vice versa.

2. i want all thumbs and text links to link to the entrance of the respective galleries, not to the latest uploaded image.

if these are not standard, please let me know how much you will charge me to make these changes and let's get rolling.

thank you.

They work the same just do like you did on your other site. View one of the photos in your category and hit MAKE INDEX THUMB to set a static category avatar otherwise it will work as I have posted.
