Question Category cache time limits?

Are there unusually longer time limits in use for the Use category cache? selection under Global Options?

I created a sub-category within a category over 24 hours ago and if I have Use category cache? set to 'yes' - this new sub-category doesn't display on either the index page of the main Gallery or in its' own Category. However, when set to 'no' it displays just fine.

In this instance, do I have to wait a little longer for it to show up when set to 'yes'? If so, how long and if not, what could be causing this behaviour?

I'm on PP 5.31 with VB 3.6.0 integration.

Thanks.

The cache is only for 10 minutes; not sure why the subcategory isn't updating properly. What happens if you add another subcat?

Hmmm - ok, it's working now!

I created a test sub-category and set the category cache to 'yes' and then both the recent and this new test sub-category displayed fine - I then deleted the test sub-category and the one I originally wanted and expected to see displayed yesterday - is still showing - which is the desired result.

Not sure why it is necessary for this roundabout way of working - but like I said, it's as I want it now and with category cache set to 'yes' - so thanks for the tip.
