MySql error LINK-ID=0

Database error in vBulletin :
Link-ID == false, connect failed
mysql error:
mysql error number: 0
Date: Tuesday 08th of August 2006 06:06:30 PM
Referer: http://www.xxx.com/photos/showgaller...at=500&thumb=1

These errors have been very difficult and time-consuming to find and fix. They occur only when the number of users online goes over 100 or so.

It has taken me a long time to tune the system, they are completely gone from vbulletin now. But they continue to come from photopost.

Is there any fast fix? What "features" can I disable so that photopost will just delivery the pictures?!!

pp v5.03 vb 3.02

Thanks in adavance...

MySQL is not accepting new connections. or reached it's maximum connections limit, have you checked/confirmed if you have made some errors in your config.php ?

Have you checked your mysql conf file settings ?

is this a dedicated on shared server /

1. Dedicated server.

2. Which "config.php" do you refer to please?

3. mysql config as follows:

[mysqld]
datadir=/home/mysql/
socket=/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock
# Default to using old password format for compatibility with mysql 3.x
# clients (those using the mysqlclient10 compatibility package).
old_passwords=1

innodb_flush_log_at_trx_commit=1
innodb_data_file_path = ibdata1:100M:autoextend
set-variable = innodb_additional_mem_pool_size=100M
set-variable = innodb_log_files_in_group=3
set-variable = innodb_log_file_size=100M
set-variable = innodb_log_buffer_size=100M
set-variable = innodb_buffer_pool_size=85M
set-variable = key_buffer=128M
set-variable = max_allowed_packet=2M
set-variable = table_cache=256
set-variable = sort_buffer=19M
set-variable = record_buffer=21M
set-variable = net_buffer_length=8K
set-variable = myisam_sort_buffer_size=42M
set-variable = thread_cache=8
set-variable = thread_concurrency=4
set-variable = max_connections=8192
set-variable = max_connect_errors=8192
query_cache_size = 32M
[mysql.server]
user=mysql
basedir=/home/
[mysqld_safe]
err-log=/var/log/mysqld.log
pid-file=/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.pid

Again, this has already been tweaked to reduce the connection failures coming from vbulletin, but I am still getting them from photopost scripts.

Any suggestions much appreciated.

The error is coming from your vbulletin script though. The error is as sandeep suggests looks like your max connections is being triggered and mysql is shutting down

Thank you gentlemen, but the question is not what does this error mean. I was able to find that answer. The question is how to fix it.

When you say the error is coming from vbulletin, do you mean the cause of the error itself, or the error reporting? I am posting here because the forums no longer reports this error, only the photo gallery.

Sure it's a mix of code, sure it could still be vbulletin. But it only occurs now in tandem with photopost.

I don't know which values to tweak in this mysql config file, I was looking for suggestions from someone who might have had the same issue, or know more about how to go about guessing.

Or perhaps what kind of php coding errors may lead to this situation. I'm running vbadvanced CMPS, and have a few hacks of my own. Anything is possible. At this time I have disabled everything except the essential vbull/photopost unhacked scripts and still I get the error.

For instance, max_connections is set to 8192,which seems to me insanely high. I have at most 150 people on at one time.

Thank you.

Most likely it would be inproperly coded hacks making constant connections to the server.

I would suggest you turn off all hacks restart the server and try viewing the page. Something is triggering that manner connections and mysql is shutting down. A normal showgallery page on our script for admin takes 15 queries or less.
