PP 5.31 Moderators functions do not work always

Hi

PP 5.31

I found a problem in one of my galleries, but am not sure whether this is a bug.

If a new user registers and I promote him to "moderator", he can use all moderator features (Hide image etc.).

But 2 of my old users, who are moderators just reported, that they can not use this feature. An error appears like: "you have to have administrator rights..."

So I am confused now. I have global rights turned on for moderators. This was different before, but I do not think that this can damage somthing after switching back to global rights....

I also would like to give my moderators access to userdata like e-mail addresses etc. I do not know, whether this should be possible already, or whether I need a hack for this (suggestions?)

Also the ability for moderators to ban users would be nice (is this already included?)...

Thanks in advance

There is not a ban feature in Photopost

As far as your old moderators check to see what usergroup they are. I would think whatever group they are in you have not given mod permissions to.

mmmhhh,

they are in my group "moderator" and this group has mod access. The new user I created and promoted was in the same moderator group...

Any other idea what could cause this different behaviour?

Hello If they are in an active moderator group the same as the new user they should be fine and able to do whatever the other moderator can.

Now what action specifically is triggering the message.

I have to ask them to put a list together with the exact steps and error messages . I will come back on this late this evening or tomorrow...

Or shall I ask them to give me the password for their account and you can login with their account?

well you can jot down logins sure but first lets get a clear cut info on what they are doing what usergroup they belong to and if it has mod access blah blah blah.

The functions you listed in your email are all administrator functions something NO MODERATOR can do. Only those with Admin Permissions can do those.

sorry, I did not see you answer here.

Would it be possible to add those features also for moderato?

In the current situation, moderators can do almost nothing. It would be better, if more of the daily workload can be done by moderators too. For this you need more "rights", i.e.:

1. use the feature to disable/hide a photo (below each image)

2. access to e-mail addresses of users, edit & delete userprofiles

3. banning possibility (for both, the admin and the moderators)

Is this planned for the next version?
