Admin should have unlimited upload rights

Although I have my upload limit set for videos to 40MB in the settings, Admins should have unlimited upload rights. You can't believe how annoying it was to try and upload a lengthy video only to be told that I exceeded the Maximum upload filesize. Of course, this only happened after trying to upload most of the video before it gives you that error message.

And considering that, is there any way to check the upload size before it trys to upload the video and gives the error message immediately? Invariably someone misses the statement that videos are limited to a certain size.

Yep, that's true. And I have it set for about 250MB although I doubt very seriously that I would upload a file that big After I set PhotoPost to a 60MB upload limit then it didn't have any problem. But the thing that bothered me was it should have allowed it the first time with Admin rights.

It would only restrict you on filesize from two things so there is no bug here that I see

1. Your PHP max file upload size

2. You have personally set in usergroup options a max filesize per usergroup

Thats the only way the script will limit you

I don't know what to tell you Chuck. At the time I tried to upload the file I was logged in as the Admin. The upload failed and so when I went into the Admin settings for Upload Photo Options I found that the Maximum multimedia upload size was set at 40000KB. Changing it to 60000 allowed the file to upload just fine. I just checked the Usergroup settings and the upload file size limit is set to 0 (unlimited) for Admins.

So the server side php settings were fine. What I'm guessing needs to be done is to set the Max. Multimedia upload size to a large number and use the Usergroup settings to limit the upload sizes for regular users.

Yes you always need to set your admin settings for filesizes etc. In fact a default install the sizes in there are just defaults you change those to what you want and at no time no matter what you put in our admin side your always going to be limited by your server settings
