phpBB2 Int. Login Issues(NOT A BUG)

I recently installed PP with phpBB2 integration and so far am very displeased.

I have the cookies variables set the same. I am using the default cookie settings in both phpBB2 and PP.

Before installing PP, I had no real issues with logins. But the following examples make me feel that the cookie integration with phpBB2 is close, but buggy.

1. While logged in and surfing PP, the user will all of sudden show logged out and have to do it again. There is no real notification of being logged out except the login/register tags re-appear in the menu and when they try to do something that requires login, they get the 'You must be registered..' BS window.

2. While logged in surfing PP then going back to the phpBB forum, the user will still show logged in, but then at some point will get logged out and have to re-log in. This was never a problem before installing PP.

3. At one point, I was surfing PP and then got the not logged in message. I went back to the forum where it still showed me logged in and I was able to use the forum with no problems.

It is almost like the cookie is expiring too fast or PP is not honoring the phpBB expire length setting. Like I said, both phpBB2 and PP are obviously both reading the cookie OK, but both apps now log out way too fast. Only started after I installed PP

Any ideas on whether this can be corrected or not? Not sure I will leave this software installed if it keeps doing this. Seems like a wonderful gallery, but I am not willing to make login a PITA for my users to keep it. Please help if you can!

Our forum cookie if you login through Photopost expires in 1 year so that can not be an issue here.

You would need to post a url and test login for us to look at this.

Login issues like these are always cookie related unless phpBB has added something into there new version which expires cookies. This is the cookie we set if you login through Photopost

Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
Also in PHPBB since we only work with cookies and not sessions when logging into phpBB on the forum side you must check the REMEMBER ME box to create a cookie.

OK. I reset both the PP and phpBB cookies and for the past hour, it seems to be working better. I will continue to watch this and let you know. I have asked the users who were reporting problems to also reset to see if that helps.

Yep as long as cookies are set right and users when logging into the forum hit the remember me box you should be fine.

Now you can edit your phpbb templates if you choose to make that autologin box checked by default by adding checked="checked" to the input box for it
