I am playing around with them and it appears there are some good sized bugs lurking in them.
1st thing that might be causing the problem is that I am adding them to the members galleries. The option shows up to add them when editing the cat (members galleries) so it should either work or not be showing in the members galleries. For the most part the regular fields work, even the check boxes work, but the radio buttons don't seem to work when applying it to the members galleries. Others may not work too, I didn't test all.
2nd thing is that if the only cat you have for users to upload to is their member gallery, then no matter what page you click the "upload photos" button on, you don't get the extra fields. They don't show up at all when uploading the image. They do however show up if you edit the image.
Maybe the entire problem revolves around that I am trying to add them to the members galleries since I know that it's not your regular photopost cat. Just thought it could cause a bunch of trouble to people seeing it in the edit options for the members galleries when really it doesn't exactly work and maybe was never designed to work on it.
If it's possible to get working for the members galleries that would be really great because I have a use for it in the member gallery cat.
EDIT: Also just a side note, once you create the fields with multi options like checkboxes, etc. the edit button opens in the same window as the cat edit options. This completely removes any unsaved edits to the cat. A note or a popup for the edit link might help others not lose changes.
