| 5.13MG- Can't view all users pics using Next Image button(NOT A BUG)
5.13 - Members Gallery - can't view all users pics using Next Image button
Here's how viewing users pics in Members Gallery works for me ...
Slideshow - This works great. ALL pics from ALL categories are shown in descending order, from thumbnail selected.
http ://wwwmydomain/slideshow.php?photo=4567&cat=500&slideshow=1&slidedelay=2&size=medium
Filmstrip viewing - This works great. By clicking on Next thumbnail, will show descending sequence of pics from ALL cats.
The URL look like this ...
http ://wwwmydomain/showphoto.php?photo=4567&cat=500&ppuser=123
However viewing pic using by `Next Image' button, photo viewing is directed only to the category they are in.
The URL looks like this
http ://wwwmydomain/showphoto.php?photo=4567&ppuser=123
Any possibility of being able to view pics from all categories using the Next Image button when viewing all users pics in Members Gallery?
Mark

Not quite following here. As long as ppuser is not empty the correct photos are indeed shown if I follow your above message.
Here is a short example. Here is a user with 12 pictures. The next and previous buttons work fine http://www.reeftalk.com/gallery/show...34/ppuser/1340
You are able to view only those users 12 pictures by the prev and next buttons

In the Members (Showcase) Gallery ...
colonel has 6 pics http://www.reeftalk.com/gallery/show...500/ppuser/730
Click on the aquarium, which is in the Reefs Category
Now Click on Next Image button
What one sees is a pic (by different user) in the Reefs category.
We are now out of colonels showcase gallery and clicking Next takes one into the depths of the Reef Category.
What Next Image button should do in Members Gallery, is function in the same sequence as the filmstrip and slideshow works there, ie, view all users pics in the order they were uploaded, and not get snagged in a specific category.
Viewing pics by category is already accomplished through the Gallery index page.
Hopefully the Next Image function isn't inseparably intertwined between these two viewing methods.

Well I can't rightly say whether this is a bug or not.
See the example I gave you the users photos where all in one category thats why it worked. Now I see what you mean on the other user as his photos are all over the place.
However the reason I cant say whether its a bug or not is I know the next link thumbs etc use to show just thumbnails for the category the picture is in.
I beleive now it will show the latest pictures etc or many other combinations depending on what is passed if you look at the script so it varies. Use to be it was only one simple query
Now I will let Michael know about this and he can respond accordingly but if you want to fix your install
in showphoto.php add the code in bold Code: Content visible to verified customers only.

Will need to resurrect this thread ...
Carole was going to try putting the above in line 1168 at showphoto.php, but this section of the file is different in 5.14.
In Members Gallery (we have it set to show all members pics) ...
But clicking Next/Previous Image button goes on to other users pics in same category, and doesn't follow sequence of member pics / all cats by upload date.
Also this thread is maybe related, a similar problem ... 5.14: Group by Member showphoto continues to others pics
5.14 - When viewing showphoto of Category > (selecting option) > Group by Member > Photo viewing continues on to other users pics.

Well as stated I can not actually say this is a bug as the next and prev where reworked by Michael to intentionally pull and follow the sorts.
I gave you something to tweak on your install and thats where we left this. The file nor the tweak has changed in 5.14

It's a tough sell to get artists to upload their works into a category that contains other artists (competitors) works, and the main reason for using the Members Gallery and optional Group by Members sort is so that members can link to and show friends and potential customers their works without it going to others works.
This hit home recently when a close friend told me she prefers emailing a customer photos of her work, rather sending a link to her Members Gallery or to the Group by Members cat link.
I realize there's a lot of complexities in getting the multitudes of options and sort orders to suit everyones needs.
Re: 5.14 Showphoto.php ... Carole says that has changed since 5.13 and doesn't know where to put the tweek, but I'll let her chime in on this discussion when she gets back from work.

Re: Members Gallery viewing, Here's an example in our plant Gallery (Crafts gallery hasn't been upgraded yet) http://www.bamboocraft.net/bamboo/sh...=500&ppuser=29
Member has 3 pics.
Viewing by clicking on Filmstrip or Slideshow works correctly. just shows members pics.
Viewing by (Previous) Photo button goes to others categories.

I think I gave you a tweak to help you out but the way it is coded now member's wanted the thumbnails above the photo to follow the global sort and not be tried to just the category the person is in.
As a result this is not a bug. If the sort is most recent etc etc it will pull photos from all cats. Slideshow only pulls what it needs cause it is designed to only work with one cat of photos.
You would need to do the same type of hack I gave you for nextlink to the prevlink as well and add in the cat variable to negate the new features added into Photopost 5.1

I added the text in bold at line # 263 and and 267 Code: Content visible to verified customers only.
How do I "add in the cat variable to negate the new features added into Photopost 5.1"

You are SUPPOSE TO ADD the bold codes as it states in that thread.
Sorry but this is not a bug as the prev and next image links where changes on a global scale to pull the recent photos etc and not the direct next and prev images in a category. I really can not add anymore to this discussion. I gave you a solution that would help you but we are getting into hacking territory here and as a company we do not support it.
