Albums in assigned cat don't add to cat index count(FIXED)

well sorry to say I dont know what you did cause I already edited your file on your site and it worked fine hense I posted here for anyone else so the fix does indeed work

Take your one forum my album is assigned to. It has 6 photos yet it reports 7 because of the 1 photo in my album which is assigned to it

Ah, when I asked Carole to add it, she didn't look and just replaced it over yours.

Now, what I see with your pic is ...
In the Members Gallery (Total pic count) was updated, but I still see 6 as the count in the index page for the cat you uploaded to.
Though with your pic the index should show as 7.
Are you seeing 6 or 7 count for this cat?


... I just added 2 pics into an assigned album, and the count update didn't occur for Members Gallery count or assigned cat.

I just reapplied the fix posted here and it definately works

count goes from 6 to 7 and 7 to 6 on that forum if I assign my album to it or not

Yep, I tried assigning your album to another cat, and it updated the count correctly.
However here's the glitch / re yesterdays confusion ...

1) Upload pic to album in assigned cat
- count doesn't update in cat
2) Re-assign album to Personal Album
- Count updates in Members Gallery
3)Re-assign Album back to another Category
- Count is correctly updated in both Members Gallery and assigned Cat

When I deleted the pic, count was readjusted in assigned cat, but the Members Gallery count did not re-adjust

I cant comment on this as this has nothing to do with the issue we are talking about. Maybe another bug we would need to look at

So it works as I stated!!

If I assign an album to brach it counts right and if I assign it to gigantola it counts right. I can't comment on the members gallery count as to my knowledge the album counts are not part of nor have they ever been a part of the members gallery count.

Even looking at the code albums are not part of the members gallery count. Album counts are only taken into consideration when an album is assigned to a category. If not assigned to a category the children field is empty and there is nothing to update

True that there may be another issue interplaying, Re Members Gallery here.
As I have Members Gallery set to show all users pics, when I Scan Database > recalculate ..., Members Gallery does update to show total pic count reflecting pic count stats at the bottom.

BTW did you rescan database after your last 3 uploads? Because looking at the index now, Members Gallery count is correct, as per stats.
... Unless you uploaded them to Personal Albums first, then re-assigned them to a cat, in which case when I tried it this way, it did update Members Gallery, then updated the assigned cat count when I reassigned it.

Whatever Chuck, I appreciate all your efforts to solve this puzzler.
It certainly isn't a critical issue here, though in time we will be implementing more use of albums, possibly using some cats which will predominately contain albums, then assigned to cat album count will matter.
I think you've got this part sorted.

Will leave sorting Members Gallery - all users pics count to your discretion as I know these issues are more complex then I can comprehend.
...and I can always scan database > recalculate to make Members Gallery count updates.
