Problem with access rights(NOT A BUG)

Hi,

I am not sure if this is a bug but it looks like one so I'll try to describe it here.

A user requested an internal gallery where only a few persons can view and upload pictures to so I created an own group for this in vBulletin.
Its a Public group so that the user has the chance to manage the members of the group on his own.

The primary group is: Registered Users
The secondary group is: Gallery

Within vB everything works but pp is making a small error.

I created a gallery where Registered Users are not allowed to view images but the group Gallery is.

Which works for their internal forum does not work for pp cause the system does not show up pictures for the group Gallery.
I am sure this is because Gallery is a secondary group but I don't want to create primary groups for this.

I think while working with vBulletin pp should check:
a: does the primary group give access rights
YES - let the user in
NO - check secondary groups
b: does a secondary group give access to the gallery
YES - let the user in
NO - show no access rights page

This is how vBulletin handles it for forums and this it how pp should handle it when integrated into vB.

I double checked this on my PP 5.11 vb3 Enhanced installation and its definetly not working.

Could you please assist?

Kind regards
jluerken

Your group needs to exist in the usergroup table of vb

Now remember the most common mistake people make. Did you import and set permissions correctly in Photopost's usergroup editor?

There are no issues I see with this function on a non-hacked standard Photopost

Hi Omegatron,

Yes I did.

I found out that its working internaly but that the gallery listing on forumhome is not correct.
So the function is there but with a small mistake.

I think I can life with that.

Good to see that you're still around Omegatron

Okay depending on what version of the hack your using you may or may not be using permissions so it may indeed be wide open.
