| Saving watermarked photos(NOT A BUG)
Since upgrading to 5.11, users are having a problem saving watermarked photos. Previously, images would be saved as "watermark.jpg" (or somethig similar). Now, when a user attempts to save-as, the filename is "watermark.php". Changing the extension to .jpg manually will get the file to open.
Any thoughts as to why the default would be a .php extension and not a .jpg?
Cheers,
Michael

Hi Micheal
This may be due to your PP settings (Image Protection) or 'on-the-fly' watermarking, you could disable on-the-fly watermarking which is done via your PP admin > Image Protection > Enable on-the-fly image protection

-T | Hi Toney,
I've always used on-the-fly watermarking before. Has something changed in the new code to prevent saving correctly? If so, how can we get it to do on-the-fly without confusing the file extension?
Thanks much,
Michael

Hi..
i would disable on the fly, just try this, goto PP admin > Watermark Options > Enable watermarking of photos with overlay image (set to YES) set the watermark position, then the path : /home/mysite/public_html/gallery/watermark.png ( for example )
note : use a transparent PNG file if possible
then setup categories > PP admin > Administration > Edit Categories > Path to watermark for this category (and) check "These checked usergroups will have their photos stamped with your overlay photo" found at the bottom of the edit category page and set for each usergroup.

-T | Toney,
If I understand correctly, I really do not want a permanent watermark on the images as I repurpose the images for other sites and use the "pristine" copies elsewhere, so I really need the on-the-fly to work as it did previously... thanks.
Michael
p.s. Appologies if I've misunderstood your suggestion, but I believe you're recommending that I disable on-the-fly and enable permanent watermarking on upload. Please correct me if I'm mistaken..

You could try this, in watermark.php at line 136: Code: Content visible to verified customers only.
I think this will set the name of the file being downloaded to the name of the image.

Unfortunately no change in behavior... interestingly, if I look at the response headers, I'm getting a response that i'd expect: Code: Content visible to verified customers only.
Also, I wanted to make sure I've put the change you suggested into the correct context: Code: Content visible to verified customers only.
Any other things we can try?
Thanks,
Michael

Right place. Try: Code: Content visible to verified customers only.

I'm guessing that it doesn't affect the Right Click-Save As... feature of IE; can you post a link to an image so I can try it with Firefox?

OMG, I found the answer!
The header has to appear BEFORE imageJPEG is called (per a random post I found on the PHP web site), to read as follows: Code: Content visible to verified customers only.
Walla, it saves perfectly again!
