error message? How serious??

An error was encountered during execution of the query:

SELECT id,user,userid,cat,storecat,title,bigimage,disporder FROM pp_photos WHERE cat=notcat ORDER BY disporder,lastpost DESC

The query returned with an errorcode of:

Unknown column 'notcat' in 'where clause'

HMM-- it is not serious

okay so do you get a visible error. This has to do with adm-misc.php

However there is this on the top of the script

if ( $cat == "notcat" ) { $cat=0; $notcat=1; }

So I wonder why that query is returning with using notcat.
