Picture upload email notice

I have the settings all turned off in the admin area.
Quote:
Allow users to be notified of new posts via email? NO
Use email to notify users? NO
However still I recieve massive complaints by my vb3 users that they are getting these Picture upload email notices nonstop. Not to mention it's backing up my SENDMAIL like to no tomorrow. Anyone offer some help into turning it off or somthing.

Thanks
-m

Once they have signed up, they continue to get notices regardless of this setting; at least thats how it has always worked.

What version are you running?
