Unable to login Photopost Classified v4.1 (as administrator)

Not using any forums for login
This installation has been working for years.
No new ftp uploads for months (you were the last when you upgraded me to 4.1 to try to solve a problem.)
Was working fine last week.
Only software changes on my computer was an automatic Microsoft patches to Vista.

Not sure who you are specifically since I deal with lots of people.

Have you tried resetting your admin password?

tried the forgot.php several times. On the screen it appeared to work - but no email sent.

Have you checked your spam filter?

You can download the software and use the install script to reset the admin password there is an option on the initial install screen for that.

I downloaded 4.2 and uploaded the new file.
I ran install.php and selected change admin password.
Changed the username and password.
exited without "loading language strings" (did not want to overwrite my previous changes)
ran Main Index - Pictures
logged in with new username/password

The login was successful but I now do not have "admin" privilages.
Is it required that the username be "admin" as I did not use that.

Thats a standalone install so as long as the user you are using has a usergroup of 5 in the actual cp_users table that user would be admin. If the user you are not logging in with is not an admin you will never be admin.

Have you looked at the users table?
