Photos in Classifed -- removed automatically?

I have run a PP Classified for a number of years in my vB forum. I usually have about 200 ads at any given time.

I run the cron job and delete ads regularly, but my photo data files are pretty stuffed full of files. Because it's broken up in so many subdirectories I don't know how many photos are in there. I backed up my website yesterday and as I watched the "data" files list off it sure seemed like a lot more than 200 ads worth of photos.

Do the photos uploaded with an ad get deleted from the database when the ads are removed? I would assume they do, but thought I'd better ask.

If you have around 200 ads there could be up to 3600 images. Each ad can hold up to 6 images and each image could have 3 images a thumbnail a large image and the regular image.

Once an ad is expired and has passed the timeout yes all ads are deleted.
