Users Unable to Leave Comments in Ads

Where do I go to change the settings for this? I (Admin) don't even see an option for me to leave a comment/question on an ad, myself.

The quick reply box should not show for you if it is your own ad but there should still be a post a comment link if you have permission to post comments.

None of the ads are mine, and I believe I have everything set correctly for members to leave comments on ads. Can you let me know where to check the settings for this?

Well in Admin edit usergroups and admin edit categories is where you set permissions for actions in the program.

what do you mean they cant do a comment you mean they cant see the comment box or post a comment links? If that is the case then you need to verify permissions are set that they can place comments.

Yeah, there is no comment box for anyone at all, Admin included. Our site shows comments have been left, but last one I believe was several months ago before we renewed our Photopost license and upgraded Classifieds.

I just went to Edit Usergroups, and for Admin, which is the usergroup I belong to, I checked everything to yes, and I still see no comment box when I go to an ad.

Also in Edit Categories, I don't see anywhere I'd edit anything to allow comments.

For each category at the bottom you set the usergroup permissions. Also in admin options have you enabled the global permission that users can comment?

At the bottom of each category, I'm not seeing something that says anything about comments. Sorry this is taking me so long to grasp, but I feel like I'm looking around in the dark here. LoL

And yeah, in Admin Options, Allow users to post comments? is set to Yes.

Admin Option the global switch to allow comments must be yes

Edit Usergroups in admin each usergroup you wish to have commenting permissions you must set so in there.

Edit Categories in admin you need to edit each category and down the bottom you will see the permissions to upload ads post comments and view categories. These are usually set to yes normally.

Okay, here's what I have:

Admin Options, I have Allow Users to Post Comments set to YES.
Usergroups > Admin: Allow Comments set to YES
Categories > These checked usergroups can view ads in this category. Admin checked
> These checked usergroups can upload to this category,
unless a usergroup's overall upload access is disabled. Admin checked
> These checked usergroups can post to this category,
unless a usergroup's overall posting access is disabled. Admin checked

I belong to the Admin usergroup, and don't see a comment box available for me to post in someone's ads.

That would suggest to me on of two things, You have not turned on the ability for users to post comments in edit usergroups or edit categories for each category in admin. If you need assistance you can email us at support at photopost dot com a url and admin login for us to look at your settings.
