Problem installing - forum paths

Hi, i'm using 2 domain names on the one server - it seems to be causing issues as i've tried to input every known path possible into the vbgallery, even after uploading the php info script.. I have uploaded all the files via FTP the only thing i didn't follow was uploading in binary and ASCII - is this something you do with FTP or is this something i even need to consider? if this is the reason it wouldn't work then that could be why..

The problem could also be something in your script saying my software is trying to work across two domain names as per the picture i've included..

/home/mitchl/public_html/ - this server path takes you to the domain airbrushtutor.com

/home/mitchl/public_html/airbrushforum.org This is the server path takes you to my forum of domain name airbrushforum.org

will this cause an issue?

the gallery directory is located at
/home/mitchl/public_html/gallery

everything has loaded fine and all the settings are available in the admincp but the gallery tab link takes you to the screen shot shown - almost a 404 error, and you can't see any gallery displayed at all even though it is turned on..
please help.

Will have to PM you links to pictures - can't PM pictures, can't post them.

Help greatly appreciated.. been trying to solve for hours. bed time.

You can setup domains into various servers on a directory that is common place in hosting I see no issues there.

I will tell you that vbGallery must be installed with vbulletin in the same path structure of the forum and you must install using proper urls and server paths.

/home/mitchl/public_html/airbrushforum.org/gallery

If I am following what your saying above you need to install your gallery as I post above as thats where your forum is. vbGallery is a vb addon so you can not run it on a domain outside the actual forum.

that's better now, the gallery link is working and takes you to the gallery, does this script automatically import existing images from members galleries? i thought i read that it was in progress doing that..

So as it stands it's not displaying on my index page.. perhaps it's because it's new and there are no photo's there yet?

continuing

Couple more issues - the first one is the gallery logo link - I've cycled through each of the options in the control panel to get this link to change from just 'href="forum.php"', but none of them seem to be working.
Would you be able to let me know where the code is to create the logo link? or how to change it?
I tried modifying the header template in the normal forum to a http but the link options still didn't work. here is a link to picture:
www**airbrushtutor**com/forumimages/6**png - shows 'forum.php' anchor href that won't change through admin settings

The other issue i'm having is that the thumbnails aren't showing up, both on the main forum homepage and in the gallery.
It seems that it isn't writing the '_thumbs' jpg files into /gallery/files - all i can see there are the version i uploaded and the '_original' version of the picture. Should another _thumb version be created and put in here? it's just not doing this automatically so none of the pictures are displaying as thumbnails, when you click on them it works perfectly though.
here's a couple of pictures showing the problem:

www**airbrushtutor**com/forumimages/7**png

help is appreciated

by the way i don't have any hacks to my forum or anything, so hopefully this isn't a big deal to help with? cheers

Not sure what you mean by importing from members galleries. If your referring to vbulletin's little profile pic thing there was a little beta importer for vb3 many years ago that went nowhere. There is no supported script for such a thing in vb4.

Your forum index has no photos because yes you have not uploaded any.

Your gallery is shut down so not like I can physically see what your issue might be but your files and users directories are suppose to be 777 permissions for files to be created. You can try using the maintenance tool in vbgallery admin to rebuild thumbs etc. You may not have your image processor set correctly but like I said since things are locked up so I can not see hard to provide you support.

Cheers Chuck, I can't get it to work properly though. I'm happy to pay you that install fee if you want to have a look at it. I just changed the permissions of the gallery directory and then the gallery nav tab link stopped working?!
I'm over trying to do it myself, i thought it would just be plug and play but it's a bit over my head - would it be possible to get you to install it properly? let me know what you need.

You can purchase an install service from the online store and customer service will let you know what is needed via email etc.
