Avata path and PM's I noticed that in Firefox the avatar of an unknown user would normally show up as the default avatar. I have a picture that was uploaded some years ago and the avatar isn't showing for this group, yet all other avatars are showing for all other members. Here is the url to check it out for yourself page Check out the avatar next to the up-loaders description and you'll notice that it has duplicated the url and therefore the avatar isn't showing... Example the avatar should be at http://picturepenzance.co.uk/forum/i...sc/unknown.gif But instead it is http://www.picturepenzance.co.uk/for...sc/unknown.gif but ONLY for the group unknown... all others are fine and work ok. Also this double url happens if you receive a PM whilst in the gallery. If you get a pop up saying that you have a pm and choose to open a new page and read it now you get error 404 page cannot be found. This is because the url redirect to http://www.picturepenzance.co.uk/pho...wpm&pmid=19299 rather than Picture Penzance - vBulletin Message Is there something I've done wrong? |
I've gone through all the settings for both Vbulletin and VBGallery and am now satisfied that this is not user error. I can replicate this error on two sites and will be testing this out on a test site later today. I have plugins on the other sites so I'll build a test site with nothing more than Vbulletin and VBGallery and see if this problem still occurs. |
Ok I've tested this on my test site with only VBulletin version 4.0.5 (older version than production sites in case the production versions are the fault) I have VBGallery version 3.00 installed and no plugins. I have the exact same problem when receiving emails whilst in the gallery. The url is duplicated. To replicate this you must have notify pm's via pop up enabled for the user and then click ok when the popup tells you that you have a new private message. Now you will be presented the the open message in a new window box... click OK to that as well. Now you will be looking at an error 404 page. Take a look at the url and you will see that the domain url is incorrect. It should read http://www.mydomain.com/forum/private.php But instead reads: http://www.mydomain.com/gallery/http...um/private.php I can now replicate this on three websites. I've checked and double checked the urls for compliance with VBulletin and VBgallery and they are correctly set up. |
I have actually PM'd one of the people who worked on vbgallery 3.0 to see if they can help you here. |
Thanks. I'm convinced it's a tiny bit of hard code somewhere. I'll hang on |
well the pm popup is an real problem with vbulletin... because in the javascript it adds the forum url if you choose a popup.. and it doesnt if you choose the same window.. I am just testing a fix.. but it will be a couple of days.. Luc |
