I can not run the script Hello there, I recently bought your software and I am trying to install it on my vbulliten 4.08 forum. I did all the steps that you mentioned in the installing guide, but when I was trying to run the script, and type http://xxxxx.com/xxxt/admincp/vbagallery_install.php It gives an error message that said file is not found. Also I noticed that your guide doesn’t match the software that I got since it said that to upload the cpstyles, and I couldn’t find it. Thanks. |
The problem is that the "guide" ist still the old guide from vbgallery 2.5 We havent found the time yet to write a new one, but basically the instructions are the same: Copy ALL files from the package to your server respecting the directory structure. that is all you have to do! that means ALL files (3 of them) from the package forums/admincp/ directory go to your active forums admincp directory.. This is only an assumtion... if you changed the name of your admincp directory, of course, thats logic, you have to copy the files to the directory that is your admincp directory. All files AND directories and content from the package in the forums/includes directory got to your active forums/includes directory... with directories, files and everything.. etc.. etc... You then create a gallery directory, and copy ALL files from the package gallery directory to that directory. Like with the forums directory you must respect the directory structure !!!! You then edit (create) a config.php file from the config.php.new in your gallery directory after editing the file and entering the complete path to your forums directory (without the trailing slash) path... not the url. So if you get a file not found error when you call your admincp/vbgallery_install.php, that means you did NOT copy the file(s) there... Do following: log into vbulletin ACP.. (admin control panel) The url for you should be: http://xxxxx.com/xxxt/admincp/ Once you are logged in, you just add vbgallery_install.php at the end of the url. If you get a file not found error, that means you did not copy the file to your vbulletin admin directory. admincp is the name of your vbulletin admin directory. Luc |
It works! thank you very much. It was my testing forum, and now I am going to install it on my main form. I am worried that there is something related to the carest i should do. since my main forum default language isn't English. Is the "English-language-main_RTL_UTF-8" file has anything to do with non English forums? should I do anything related to the languages? |
No that is just if you are testing styles in right to left languages.. this is for develloppers only. as long as your language works in in forums, gallery should work also. For the moment not many languages have been translated though. As a general advice, if you are importing an old language file (60% of the phrases used in gallery 2.5 are still there in 3.0) open the language file in your favorite editor, and save as again, but set file encoding (usually you have that options in modern editors) as UTF-8 (if your languages are UTF8) But there is no need to do that with the default languages. Well thank you Luciano. The vbgallery works fine. But when I tried to disable the table auto selection in the user’s profile from the control panel, something happened and the user's friends list no longer appears when you click the friends table. I tried to disable the product and enable it again but it doesn’t work. Could you help me to solve this problem? (I cannot uninstall the software and reinstall it because my forum users have posted a lot of photos so far, and I wouldn’t delete them). Another thing is that I translated most of the software into my language using vbulletin control panel. Is there any way to save the language file in order to use it in future when I need? Thank you. |

http://www.photopost.com/forum/insta...ick-fixes.html But when you disable the autoselect of the tab, you should also set: Make Profile Settings below default for ALL users and new users to yes. otherwise the setting will not work. Quote:
in download select language and product vbgallery set "Just fetch phrases" to yes. Luc |
Will this update fix my main problem which is to show the friends list when the user clicks the friends tab? during the updating For the first file i got this error message from the uploading ftp program: Response: 550 Can't change directory to /public_html/forum/gallery/users/5: No such file or directory Error: Failed to retrieve directory listing Is this error because you said in your note(maybe I didn't get it): "Todo the filefix you need to be running 3.0 gold for beta or RC versions you should NOT overwrite" waiting for your answer to do the second step. thanks |
Well that error in your ftp program has nothing to do with it... What I wrote is that if you overwrite the file in a vbgallery lower than 3.0 then you might run into trouble because it contains some variables that were not defined in beta. But you should be able to upload it... Where were you going to upload that file??????? there is only 1 php file in the package and it should go to the: /public_html/forum/includes/vbgallery directory... There is NO directory called gallery/users in vbgallery... But that file will NOT fix your other problem. The only thing that could fix it are the new templates. because they contain the code for the tabs. Luc |
I updated it successfully this time. The problem still the same when the user click the friends tab, no friends list shows and the page is empty. Any other solution? Also I think the (reported forum) option in the control panel doesn't work, since I chose one from the drop down menu, but no threads were created or anything changed when the members post photos or write comments. Thank you for answering my questions. I appreciate it. |
the reported forum option only creates a thread when users report a picture or a thread. link: Report to Moderator as to the friends tab.. It works when you switch gallery off? |
ok let me try the reported forum and see. No it doesn't I tried it yesterday and still the same. |
If it doesnt work when vbgallery is switched off, then it is not a problem with vbgallery. Are you using default style? |
No I am not. vb4.8 has built in style generator, and I made one. |
I have another question please. In the file type i saw video types file. Does the software work with the video sharing as it works with photos? |

To view it inline, like youtube etc.. it would need a hack that is not done yet. |
OK thank you Now I have a problem with the cookies' setting. The users log out the forum Suddenly, and when they try to move to another sub-domain, they have white page. I read this article: http://www.photopost.com/forum/photopost-product-faqs/136971-cookies-login-problems.html but I have already installed the software. Do you have a way to correct the cookies without causing a problem? |
