thought I installed v2.51 I downloaded version 2.51 from the Members Area and installed it but the footer shows: Quote:
|
Did you run your upgrade? The copyright would be updated when you actually run the install script and upgrade or on an install the copyright should say 2.5 I beleive. |
I ran the upgrade. I used to have v 2.1 now it says 2.4.3. The folders I downloaded were titled 2_5 but the footer and the admincp statistics say: Quote:
|
If you do not have the option of upgrading to 2.5 then you have not downloaded the 2.51 code but instead the 2.43 code. |
The Member Area shows that I'm eligible for 2.5. Is there a reason I wouldn't be eligible? Are you sure it's just not a typo in the file version and I may really have 2.5? |
What is the fikename you downloaded? Our links are correct here and if you used 2.5 your copyright and admin would say your using that version. |
I downloaded photopost_vbgallery_2_51.zip. Try it yourself. There is a file called readme.html and in it is says: Quote:
|
I checked our download it is indeed 2.51 and the copyright says 2.5 The readme may be older than the code To upgrade your vbgallery you need to upload the files in the upload portion of the download to your forums and gallery directories and run the vbgallery_install.php script and select upgrade. I have done various upgrades I know this works. |
Is there a particular file in 2.4.3 that is different from 2.51 so I can check to see which I have? I downloaded and installed the 2.5 files. I still have the 2.5 zip files on my desktop. Does the install need to be run more than once since I went from 2.1 to 2.5? Or, maybe you can't go from 2.1 to 2.5 directly...? |
when you select upgrade you go through the upgrade scripts till it runs no more. If you select upgrade and it says you already have 2.5 then your done. 2.5 code has flashupload.php in the gallery directory 2.43 does not. You need to make sure you have uploaded all the files to your server and if you have the proper install file and xml file installed all the proper upgrades and changes will be done. |
I was hoping that I wouldn't have flashupload.php but it's on the server (filesize: 2,486). I must have done something else wrong. Any guesses on which folder or files I should reupload? I had to edit the files mentioned in these threads due to issues I was having (that shouldn't have made a difference though, right)?: http://www.photopost.com/forum/insta...t-running.html and http://www.photopost.com/forum/bugs-...thumb-jpg.html |
When you run the upgrade what does it tell you? I need to know explicitly as your telling me about a copyright and everything I see in the code notes that is updated on the upgrade to 2.5 You could have uploaded the files and not ran the upgrade or your version in your database prevents an upgrade from being ran. what does your gallery_version set to in your database in the gallery settings. |

You can check in your ppgal_settings table in your vb database using phpmyadmin the value of the variable gallery_version. what happens if you run the upgrade? basically I am looking to answers to questions I have asked a few times here so I know how to answer. I have done plenty of upgrades installs so I know the issue is not there nor do I have site info listed here for us to look so all my replies are generic in nature. |
When I first tried to run the install, the page that came up was blank so I made this change: http://www.photopost.com/forum/insta...t-running.html The when I tried to run the install, the page came up and the default option was to "Upgrade". I ran it and when it was finished the admincp appeared. There were no other questions during the install. I just checked the ppgal_settings table for the value of the variable gallery_version. It is 2.4.3. :( |
You can send me your server info to look as to why the upgrade does not work but clearly if the case is 2.4.3 the upgrade would run and update the version to 2.5 |
What server info would help you? |
well a url and admin login as well as server info so I can look at your database tables myself. |
Must I post them (publicly) on this forum or can I send them to you some other way? |
You can send any logins through the contact us link in our header. |
