I'm planning to move to a new server running cherokee.

Any known issues, or precautions I should take before the move?

As long as the server supports PHP and mysql with safe mode off and there is an image processor installed on the server then your good to go. It goes not matter whether its a windows,mac, linux or even a C compiled server (Cherokee).
