upgrading to 2.5 You are already running the current version of PhotoPost vBGallery

All files uploaded and selected upgrade and get:
You are already running the current version of PhotoPost vBGallery Photopost vBGallery.
Can you help me please Chuck?

Chuck S March 15th, 2009 05:41 PM

Okay if you go into your upload options in vbgallery do you see the switch for the flash uploader? If so then everything is fine.

Ramses March 15th, 2009 05:51 PM

Yes it is, but the products page it's showing PhotoPost vBGallery 2.4.3

Chuck S March 15th, 2009 05:52 PM

Thats interesting I wonder what version does your settings table for vbgallery in the database have listed?

Ramses March 15th, 2009 05:56 PM

where in the database?
Ok I got it, it's gallery_version 2.5 (value) and 1.0.1 (vB 3.5) (default value)

Ramses March 15th, 2009 06:36 PM

It seems that the product wasn't installed, the template ADV_GALLERY_UPLOAD_FLASH for example wasn't created and the product xml is showing <description>PhotoPost vBGallery 2.4.3</description> no wonder it's not upgrading right?
I try to change it to 2.5 and let you know what's happening.

Ramses March 15th, 2009 06:56 PM

Allright, was still showing "You are already running the current version of PhotoPost vBGallery Photopost vBGallery."
So I installed over the product importer and was successful.

Chuck S March 15th, 2009 07:46 PM

Ok I will let Michael know to check into that

rinkrat March 23rd, 2009 08:53 PM

This is the exact same problem I am having. I reupped my subscription so I could grab the new version and now it won't upgrade.

If I have to reinstall will it wipe the previous several years of work?

Chuck S March 23rd, 2009 10:06 PM

You dont reinstall you upgrade.

I have physically myself checked out quite a few in the past couple weeks.

If you go into your vbgallery settings do you see a switch for the flash upload?

rinkrat March 23rd, 2009 11:18 PM

I see that option, but I never ran the script.

Was that option added with the ftp file upload?

Also, now when anyone leaves a quickreply on any photo it is translated into a "0", breaking the whole comment system. I remember this happening once before on an upload but I forget what fixed it.

EDIT: Found the fix for this here

That option means the upgrade ran. So you should be operational as thats the only query ran besides upgrading the version number.

rinkrat March 24th, 2009 12:14 AM

Great! Thanks, Chuck!

It is fixed in 2.43 download which I did and I emailed Michael but looks like he used an older 2.43 build.

Upgrade vBGallery from 2.4.3 to 2.5

Dear Chuck,

Where are the instructions to upgrade from vBGallery 2.4.3 to 2.5?
There is only intruction to install. I do not want to miss things up please.

Alsirhan

Chuck S May 19th, 2009 08:41 AM

All you should need to do is run the install script and select upgrade. You can then select reinstall plugins templates and you should be fine.

alsirhan May 19th, 2009 09:14 AM

Should I follow installation procedure and upload all files?

Chuck S May 19th, 2009 10:04 AM

Yes you do want to do that.
