XML error during install

Vb 3.7 new install.
I made all the changes to the files as the instructions said and uploaded them
When running the install script it stops at the installing product section when it shows the xml error and stops.
I have since used the uninstall feature and have not done any more work until I asked the question here. Please let me know what other info you would need on this issue.
Thanks.

this is the exact error:
XML Error: unknown at Line 0

Thanks.
I read that before posting my problem and did try it but it did not help out. I will work on this later today after work and possibly upload everything again to see if it helps.

Yes you might need to try a different upload client if you continue to have permissions as most clients will upload files properly but there are a couple programs out there that are problematic I assume.

From the install instructions:

Note: Be sure to upload the /gallery/images and /forum/cpstyles folders and their contents in Binary mode and the other files in ASCII mode.

I have the /gallery/images folder uploaded to: /forum/gallery/. Is this correct?

I have the /forum/cpstyles/ folder that comes with vbulletin on the server all ready. The contents of your folder only has one file: ppgal_cp_logo. Where exactly does this image go or do I upload the entire folder to a cretian location? If I upload it to the server it might overwrite my existing folder from vbulletin. I so not have this folder or image uploaded to the server yet. Could this be causing the install issue? Sorry for being such newbie.

And to verify from the link you sent me to.
Upload in ASCII format.
- forums\admincp\product-ppvbgallery.xml

The file is broke.
Install should work after that.

This file gets put into my admin cp folder correct?

Everything in the forums folder of the downloaded zip does to your vb install.

Everything in the gallery directory goes into the directory your using for the gallery.

Thank you for the help. The issues was really just following the instructions which are somewhat tricky to follow and could be worded easier for some of us dummys to follow. LOL

I have some settings that I need to check like the path names to get it working but I think that should not be a problem. Just some errors shown but if I have a problem I will search first before starting another thread.
Again thank you for your support.
