Error after upgrade to 2.4.3

Followed the upgrade instructions to the letter... and now get the following error when testing the gallery as admin

Database error in vBulletin 3.7.3:

Invalid SQL:
UPDATE user SET ppicount = ppicount+1 WHERE userid = '1';

MySQL Error : Unknown column 'ppicount' in 'field list'
Error Number : 1054
Request Date : Saturday, September 13th 2008 @ 05:31:13 AM
Error Date : Saturday, September 13th 2008 @ 05:31:14 AM
Script : The Craft Diner
Referrer : The Craft Diner
IP Address : XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX
Username : Head Chef
Classname : vB_Database
MySQL Version : 5.0.45-community-log

Can anyone help?

Seems like all the gallery images and user galleries are still there, but the gallery belonging to the admin login (Head Chef) seems to be gone.

FYI

I currently have the gallery offline, so put it back online and tested the gallery as a standard user. Then I get a page not found error when I try to upload, so it doesn't seem to be working for anyone, even if their gallery exists.

Hmmm... but although I get an error when trying to upload as a standard user (and admin) the images do appear in the latest uploads!

Is there anyway of rolling back this install?

Things have all changed... I've got rid of the above error, re-installed all files again and its gone now... but I have a new error! If I upload the new version of /forum/includes/functions_gallery.php it totally screws the look of the gallery - see attached.

If I use the old /forum/includes/functions_gallery.php the gallery looks lovely again but I cannot validate any images in the admincp.

What's changed in functions_gallery.php that is screwing with the look?

Also the gallery strip on the ForumHome now looks like the attached....

The "images" that are showing as redbox X are still in the gallery and the links work and take you to the image.

Why is the strip all squashed into one column?

And why am I not getting any support

Have you ran your upgrades via the install script?

Basically ppicount is a field added in the 2.0 upgrade and your issues would all stem from your gallery not being upgraded correctly.

Yep, I followed the install instructions (http://www.photopost.com/installphp-vbgallery.html) to the letter (apart from the fact that they listed to run vbagallery_install.php and the script is called vbgallery_install.php).

I edited the required files, I copied the required files, I chmodded the required directory and I ran the install script and selected "upgrade"

The ppicount error has gone now anyway (see above), the error I have now is to do with the way the gallery looks.

This post is the relevant one now

My suggestion is to actually post a true link to your gallery and a test login

PhotoPost vBGallery

testing and testing here and this is a clean vbgallery and I see no issues here. I need to see your actual site to debug the issue

The gallery is here

You can see from the gallery main page that everything has shifted along one column. So the last column is empty (when it should have number of replies) and the first column has the Gallery Title & Description when it should have the image that identifies if there are new posts or not.

If I know when you are going to visit, I'd turn the forumhome gallery strip on, as thats all messed up too (as shown in the attachment in post 5 above)

I've got it turned off at the moment as it looks a mess otherwise.

Its getting rather late over here now, so I'll probably be hitting the sack soon

Ok More Info.

If I turn off (Categorybit Option) "Show On/Off Indicators" the subcategory listing columns sort themselves out.

But with that setting on, the subcategory listings shift along one column to the left and the On/Off Indicator is not shown... instead the subcat name is shown in that 1st column.

Nothing seems to fix the forumhome gallery strip tho and I've also just noticed that I have a number of settings in the admincp that have no descriptions....some are set to yes, some are set to no... but I have no idea what any of them do!

I'll be back in the morning to check for updates. Thanks

well I would need to know why you are not showing the on off indicators. I see them on my site so do you have custom templates that need reverting?

Have you tried the setting to reinstall all templates phrases etc on the install script when you upgraded?

Basically to upgrade you want to upload every new file except the config file and run the install script select upgrade occassionally you may need to reinstall the templates and I think this might assist you.

Ok, everything is ok now.

I made the mstake of following the instructions accompanying the download in the download area to the letter.

However, those instructions did not list all the files to be copied.

Perhaps for "novices" like me the Installation Manual linked to the download should be the same as the readme file that comes with the software, rather than just a generic one that doesn't apply to the current release.
