| Unable to login to gallery directly
Hi there,
We've installed Photopost vbgallery 2.4.2 to work with a test vbulletin forum version 3.6.10 and things are generally working well. The only problem appears to be as follows:
If I open a browser window directly to my gallery on [url]/gallery/index.php and attempt to log in I get a 404 error after clicking Log In.
If I go to my forum URL first and log in to the forum then either click the Gallery link in the nav bar or open a new browser window directly to the gallery index page as above, it works correctly and I get the gallery.
Initially I thought it was the style, but we tried the default style as well and that also exhibits the problem.
Any ideas as to what might be causing this?

Perhaps the gallery options cache is not updated.
AdminCP => vBGallery => Modify Settings
- scroll to bottem
[save]

Thanks for the suggestion! I gave it a shot but unfortunately still get the same problem.
Here's some further information on the problem, found this while trying a few things today:
If I log in to the forums first, then access the gallery, all of the items in the gallery's navbar point to the correct place. E.g. the memberlist goes to [domain]/[forum folder]/memberlist.php.
If I log out, then access the gallery directly, the urls are incorrect. e.g. the memberlist goes to [domain]/[gallery folder]/memberlist.php
So the urls are correct when logged in to the forum first, but incorrect if I access the gallery folder directly. I suspect this is the cause of the login problem.
It seems to make no difference whether I have member.php or memberlist.php in the navbar replacements box for the admincp settings for vbgallery.

Here is a thought. Do you have a custom style ?
Header replacements directly effects the "header" template.
Navbar replacements directly effects the "navbar" template.
On a custom style when the content of the navbar is moved to the header template standard navbar replacements will not work. Copy and paste the list of files from Navbar to Header replacments.

Thanks for the suggestion. I gave that a shot but unfortunately the problem still exists.
Initially, we were using the Morpheus Grey style ( when I installed vbgallery ). After having this problem, I changed the forum and gallery style back to vbulletin's default style in case that's relevant.
So, currently using the default style.

Is the plugin system disabled in vBulletin, if so enable it.
Is the forums set to Offline, if so put it online.
Do you have a link to the site I could view ?

Hi Zachariah,
Thanks for your help. It's working correctly now, and I'm not entirely sure why. While I tested it previously after turning both the forums and gallery on, my guess is that I didn't save the setting for one of the above when doing so. I'm guessing that your suggestion of adding the header replacements has additionally worked with the custom style as that's also logging in correctly once I switched back to it. My error I fear!
I'm going to reinstall and re-set up the gallery just to make sure that my process is all good and that everything works correctly, but this seems very likely now. Thanks for sticking with me while we worked this out!

I get the same problem (Fresh install of the lastest stuff), no changes to anything yet. Attempting to login at the gallery (site/gallery) attempts to visit page (site/gallery/login.php?do=login). login.php doesn't seem to be a part of the current or next previous release of the vbgallery package, so I'm not sure why it's looking for that file.
I've tried the same fixes suggested here and it doesn't seem to have worked either (though I guess the first poster took some time to have his site start responding too)
Edit: Note: I don't seem to have the same issue of having my navbar links switch to the gallery folder on logout; it seems to only be the login boxes (top-right).

hello please post a url to your site so we may see.
As Zachariah noted where is your login link located at? If your link is in the header not navbar you may need to move the file name login.php to the header replacements area of the vbgallery admin for it to work.

My installation was completely default. In other words, I installed VBul for the first time ever, and I installed VBGal for the first time ever; I have not yet changed any settings or setup and style changes (also because vBul itself is giving me problems saving the style CSS file, but that's another issue for the vBul people). The issue was based on the default settings and style.
However, like daveamb, I just tested it again right now after having made literally no changes (actually I turned on and off the Vbull "Public phpinfo() Display Enabled" setting to help debug the other issue, just checked it again in both states) and the login is now working normally for seemingly no reason. I will keep a close eye on it, but I have no clue whatsoever why this was an issue or why it is no longer an issue.
