Stuck after install.

After searching and reading for about 30 mins. I'm going to post here.

Tried to install. Changed path to "D:/inetpub/wwwroot/forums"

Uploaded all files correctly.

Clicked install and on the IIS webserver the RAM usages jumps from 600MB to 900MB and the "Current anonymous connetions" begin to spike from 3 or 4 to 30. Then the next page give no confirmation. Just "PhotoPost vBGallery Photopost vBGallery Install" and blank content.

Refreshed admin home. It's blank.

Anyone else on windows with this issue?

Default install should not cause that.

I DEV on Apache / Win2k-XP
- P3 550
- 256 ram on the system

I have installed on a few systems with IIS w/o problems.
Shoot me some access via PM.

Without giving access to our box (against our company policy) we won't be able to receive support?

Aren't there any common issues for IIS6 customers?

Not that I know of, it runs smooth on Apache or IIS.
-------------------------------------------------

Well with no access, let's see what we can do.
- 1st lets make sure it can install.

Upload the new PhotoPost vBGallery files to the directories listed below.
There are 2 mail folders in the script.
- forums
- gallery

The content of the "forums" folder will upload into the root of the vBulletin install folder.

- forums\admincp
product-ppvbgallery.xml
vba_gallery_admin.php
vbgallery_install.php

- forums\cpstyles
ppgal_cp_logo.gif

- forums\images\misc
gallery.gif

- forums\includes
adminfunctions_gallery.php
functions_gallery.php
functions_gallery_imageedit.php

- forums\includes\cron
gallery_ecard.php
gallery_search.php
gallery_stats.php
gallery_subscriptions.php
gallery_totals.php

- forums\includes\vbgallery
admindata_start.php
admin_permissions_form.php
admin_permissions_process.php
cache_templates.php
can_administer.php
error_generic.php
forumhome_complete.php
global_complete.php
global_setup_complete.php
member_complete.php
mod_index_navigation.php
online_location_preprocess.php
online_location_process.php
online_location_unknown.php
postbit_display_complete.php
style_fetch.php
template_groups.php
userdata_update_username.php

- forums\includes\xml
bitfield_vbgallery.xml
cpnav_vbagallery.xml
hooks_vbgallery.xml

- forums\modcp
vba_gallery.php

------------------------

The "gallery" folder can upload to where you want the "root" of the gallery to be.

EX:
/forums/gallery/

or

/forums/
/gallery/

----------------------------------
Run the install script from your browser by going to http://www.yoursite.com/forum/adminc...ry_install.php

This script will make all necessary changes to your database and install the templates, phrases, settings, and etc for you. Once the script is done, go to your Admin CP and you will see a new group of options called "vBGallery" in the left frame. That is where you will modify the settings and set up your new Gallery.

Once you have finished please remove vbgallery_install.php, product-ppvbgallery.xml in the forums/admincp folder.

Now you will need to have read/write access to the /gallery/files folder (unless you changed where the gallery upload will be stored )

I seen another post you were talking about memcache and xcache.
- I know memcache is ok.
- xcache still has a few issues, but it can be disabled as far as the gallery and still enabled in the forum.

I would try also to see if you have problems with cache disabled.
- /forums/includes/config.php

I follow all the instructions again from scratch. Disabled xcache from php.ini (restart IIS) then tried install again.

OnceI click install, Mysql connections begin to skyrocket! from 3 or 4 to 50 (spike) nothing seems to happen. Almost as if things are locked.

Same with IIS connections.

Check for the new gallery option in admin cp. It's still not listed there. Also, noting in plugins list.

- there could be server setting on your mysql account.
- there is a good spike of Queries (624) when you hit install and a few other steps of 5-20 later on.

There are several user intervention menus durring install.
That pause and require your attenchen.

- database install / changes
- import main product
- Fill in paths, urls
- remap images (smiles, icons, theme)

Once installed the script should place you in AdminCP.

How about disable all hacks. Then try install then re-enable hacks after install.

Would that be worth a try?

Zachariah April 1st, 2008 09:56 AM

That would be worth a try to disable hacks.
- The only problems I have had with hacks was VBSEO once.
(disable allowed install)
- Old version of xcache stops a few pages from displaying but not install.

What PHP / mySQL versions ?
