| Getting 404 Not Found Error on Install...
Here is the error message Im getting. Ive been working on this now for 2 hrs, I have done everything in the instructions.. I even have a license for the Pro Version and I could not get that to install....
On that one, I kept getting the "Data" file permissions needed to be set to 777. It was! I then changed it to 755 because some servers just do it that way... But still no luck on that, then I tried to delete the whole photopost file and there were 3 folders that would not be deleted I had to have my server company remove the whole folder for me...
What up with all the error... I know it can't be on my end. I have been installing vBulletin style programs for 4 yrs now and never came accross these issuse...
Help on both, I have also posted in both section for both vBGallery and PhotoPost..
This is the other post I made about PhotoPost Pro Errors: Install Error...
Thanks
Don

| 404 Install Error and vbagallery_install.php was not found on this server
Now This Error is for vbGallery not PhotoPost Pro, which Im having alot of errors and issuse with. Im not even sure which will be the best to use on my vBulletin....Anyway here you go...
OK, maybe Im not explaining it the right way. I have uploaded everything in:
/home/gallery/ and I uploaded the other files to their locations per the instructions. I changed all the permission, even set up the gallery_config.php like this: $forumpath = '/home/public_html/forums';
I don't even get to any of the install stuff when I type the following into the URL for the site, I get the following message: http://mysitename.com/forums/admincp...ry_install.php and this is the Error Message I get: Not Found
The requested URL /forums/admincp/vbagallery_install.php was not found on this server. (AND YES IT IS!!! ITS RIGHT WHERE IT SHOULD BE)
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Do you have PHP in safe mode ? ( look in phpinfo "safe_mode - On")
- if so you will need to change the way the server saves the files
AdminCP -> vBGallery -> Maintenance
- Change File Storage Method
Set to "Off"
Shoot me some AdminCP / FTP in PM if you get stuck

One more question. Now when you press the link to the Members Gallery, I see that it asks for you to login again...If the member is already logged in on the main forums, how do I change it to make it the same when they enter the gallery....
Thanks
Don

At the moment you must edit to get the option to remove.
- I plan to make changes in further versions for a simple edit button. |

OK, here is another question... when you are in the gallery and you want to get back to the main forum page and you use the link up top under the logo, it send you not to the forum page but the intro page. Its as if its missing the /forums at the end of the url string...where do I change that...
Thanks Z
