Problem with image upload using same filename

Hi,

we are using PhotoPost vBGallery v2.3 with php-5.1.6 safemode enabled and gd mode. Safemode workaround in vBGallery is turned on and upload is working.

But if we upload a file with the same filename as an already uploaded image, only the thumbnail images is created. The big image is not available. No error message is shown.

What are we doing wrong?

vBGallery => Maintenance => Change File Storage Method
- OFF

for PHP in safe mode.

The safemode bypass is on:
"Click the 'Change File Storage Method' button below to turn the safemode bypass Off."

Uploading is working. Uploading an image with the same filename as an already uploaded image is producing the thumbnail only. The big image is not available --> error 404 and it is not in the directory files:

But image 1-crestbig_546874.gif is referred as big picture.

When uploading did you use:
- gallery/upload.php or FTP the file and import it ?

In the settings of the gallery do you also have enabled "save original" ?

I use gallery/upload.php, save original is off.
