Gallery and php 5.16

The filesystem is all messed up with php 5.16 and mysql 5.022
First, you cannot upload any images. Then when you do from server all thumbs display black, paths are all messed up.

When you go in admincp and try to rebuild counters, you have all kind of nasty mysql errors about functions, too fast to read.

I got around by using the database method, but I thought I'd let you know.

Same here, too - gallery uploads stopped working after a php upgrade to 5.16.
(after starting the upload all you get is a blank page and nothing happens)
No error message in apaches error log
How can I fix it?
Thanks
Thomas

I DEV on:

PHP 5.2.2-dev
MySQL Version 4.1.20

My live sites are on:

PHP 4.4.1
MySQL Version 4.0.27

I do not have a problem with either. Did the paths change of your files or were they re-uploaded ?

Take a look @ recursive file paths where your images are stored.

no, nothing was changed or uploaded - we just did a kernel upgrade and a php update to the version mentioned above.
the rest of the vbg and also vbulletin, vbadvanced and our own developed apps keep on working...

I just saw that there already is a version 2.2, we are still on 2.1 - so I'll try if the update solves the problem...

Update to 2.2. worked, but our upload problem still exists - I just get a blankpage and the images are not uploaded.
What now?
Thanks

Ok,
gd was not compiled into our new php version. We did this, now it works.
PP does not output an error message - we found the problem when vbulletin told us that "Your version of PHP does not have image support. Please make sure youhave enabled GD if your server does support it by going to Options ->
vBulletin Options -> Image Settings"
